On MOTD they slowed it down from another angle (from the dugout camera) and it was 99% proven it didnt touch his arm as the ball did not move a smither as it passed Ashleys left arm, NOT A SMITHER!

It was a decision that ref's give in the last minute to even up a 3 player sending off !

Now both mangers take something and the ref is saved !

But Ashley was very very unlucky to be sent off.

Yeah the boos for the ref... which I think the only decision he got wrong was the last penalty, which no one in the ground could have said yes or no to... but in the words of the great JT after The Poo semi final.... "if you don't see it don't give it"

Got to say that Martin O'neil is a prat of the hightest order ! Pathetic interview. All decisions were clear cut except the Ashley one !

Actually the linesman was flagging for a goal and a couple of Villa players started to point this out even running across to the touchline to bring it to O'Neills attention. Quite how he could say the ball, had crossed the line I do not know. To signal for a penalty jhe has to put the flag across his chest, he pointed straight back to the centre line and kept the flag there for a good 5 seconds or so.

Ref - " Are you saying the ball crossed the line?"

Liney - "I am but it didn't but I need the money from the 4-4 bet I've put on"

Ref - "You bet on that score too? We'll both be quids in if we play our cards right"

Liney - "But TV will show the ball didn't even reach the line let alone cross it"

Ref - "Tell you what, the ball did go quite near his arm after he headed it away so let's give a penalty for that."

Liney = "Agreed. What are you going to do with your winnings?"

Ref - "I'm going to buy my good friends Alex and Arsene a drink then I'm going to pay Rafa to give me a lap dance"

A fella sits in front of me had some verbals with two blokes a bit further along and it looked likely to kick off. Luckily Kalou, (who had been dreadful all afternoon), popped up with an unlikely winner.

Whatever Grant says in today's papers about the fans being behind him, I can tell you one fact. An awful lot of them aren't.

The interesting thing about the booing when Cole went off was that it wasn't a particularly surprising or unjustified change. It was almost as if people were just waiting for an excuse to have a go. Similarly when Ballack went off. It was clear that he had run out of steam and should have been subbed quite a lot earlier. But as soon as his number went up the chants of "you don't know what you're doing" started up.

I do think that Grant lost the plot after Newcastle scored. It was obvious we needed to bring on Sidwell for Ballack to try and get control of the game back but instead he did nothing and then brought on Pizarro for Cole.

In the end we got very lucky, but the warning signs are there for all to see.

But yesterdays boo's (on the whole) were for a totally different reason to last weeks boo's against Villa. Last week they were almost entirley aimed at the ref/linesman.

Being a Chelsea fan Rule#1....

NEVER BOO PLAYERS OR MANAGMENT.....NEVER !

If you do, your no Chelsea fan !

By all means hold them accountable, but not with boo's !

Whoever was booing and saying to grant " you dont know what u are doing" I have few simple words for them: THEY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
