Two 9 darters already on the 2nd day. And none of them came from taylor 

 
Taylor is a tosser now days. All the glory has gone to his head.

 
Nah, Taylor is a legend...he may not say or do the right thing all the time, but amazing talent...keeps raising his game despite incredible challenge from van gerwen, lewis etc...was there to see him Friday night, thought i was going to see the biggest upset ever against that qualifier...

Anyway, if anyone has never been, I strongly recommend it...great laugh....average punter drinks 7 pints....I know I helped maintain that statistic!

 
Darts need players like Taylor, the personalities in the game are nothing like the old days but he is one that really keeps the game in the spotlight, not enough kids get into darts but those who do are usually attracted to it by players like Phil.

In the old days of Bristow, Anderson, Lowe and Jockey wilson they had much more celebrity about them and even the next step down like Mike Gregory, Kieth Deller Cliff Lazerenko and Alun Evans were pretty well known.

Its odd because there's much more money in the game nowadays, its getting harder because the best are more consistent but I'd have loved it if my boy took it up, sadly hes more into computer games.

Like many kids chippy....mad thing is you get good at darts now and you can become a millionaire...wish I'd had a go when I was younger!

I'd like to go back and try again mate I really would, in the eighties I was almost cracking it and have played a lot of the big names holding my own and had high hopes until I got back into drag racing and was constantly missing matches and tournaments...I always thought I'd go back to it but never did.

I can still throw a decent dart but the consistency isn't there and though practice would help, there is no way I'd reach the level I was at and that just makes playing the game demoralising.

I really wish my boy had have got into darts but as he grew up with his Mum I didn't have much influence on him and now he's 18 its too late.

I have just bought a soft tip board and Darts for my six year old grandson though so a future champion might be on the cards.

 
Consistency is the key...people laugh and dismiss darts as a sport, but it takes amazing skill...you can get tonked now even if you average a 100... Scary....great first match between Scottish underdog and chisnell...big upset

It takes a lot of bottle too. That's why Taylor's the best, he takes out more of the high pressure finishes than most.
