A prize to anyone who correctly picks out the correct member in the picture?

Must dash, the trapeze is starting at 8:30pm
The one at the bottom right has gloves on. So that must be Deco.

Ruh Buh Juh second from right top, Loz next to but one.

I have to say I agree with dkw, the last two times we've lost (albeit a draw with blackburn with our under-strength side followed by a loss on penalties in the mickey-mouse cup and a match which we could have easily nabbed a point or even a win from against big-spending City) I've come on the site afterwards and seen post after post criticising our core of players as well as our exciting new manager who's made a better start than I'm sure anybody expected. We're a winning team nowadays but we have to understand that dropping 3 points away to Man City in a hard-fought match with some funny refereeing against a fired up team of good quality, international-standard players isn't cause to start worrying about the team. I believe we have played brilliantly so far this season and if not for some dodgy defending at a couple of freekicks, a penalty shoot out and some over-hyped press we could infact call our season so far a big success...we've scored copious amounts of goals, conceded very few, we're 2 points clear at the top of the league 2 or 3 matches shy of christmas, already qualified for the next round of the Champions League and players playing well (almost) week in week out. I'm not suggesting we brush our issues, under-performances and occasional defensive/goalkeeping frailties under the carpet but we're too quick as supporters to jump on the band-wagon of accusing our players, manager, kit-man, ball boys and anyone else we can think of, of being in serious decline. I just hope we don't ACTUALLY start to play poorly on a regular basis or this site would overload!

I can't help but feel that just maybe some people have taken this thread just a little too seriously

just maybe...

All fair points Jonesy. Personally, I generally don't bother reading posters who come on and make a bald statement like "so and so's sh*t" or "we're so crap". But win, lose or draw, I am more than happy to read a poster's point of view if they say "so and so's not good enough because.............." And then backs up their statement with some kind of reasoned argument and examples. I may not agree with it but at least I'll consider the points they are making and if I feel I can make a counter argument or add something to the debate I will. Because for me that's what these forums are all about and the main reason why I come on here.

What I really can't abide, and the older I get the more I can't stand this, is people who say we are making knee-jerk reactions or slagging players off, simply by talking about a player's poor performance or an individual's loss of form, because, hey, "so what". "We won didn't we"? "We're top of the league aren't we?"Or even worse. "What are you going on about"? "You wanna get a reality check mate and think about when we really did have something to moan about in the 70's and 80's". What's that meant to mean? I was there, I lived through those days. So what. The fact that we won a game on Saturday, lost a game on Sunday or were proper crap back then but aren't now has no relevance whatsoever to a perfectly reasonable question such as why Frank Lampard is not playing to his usual immaculate standards or the reasons why Cech is making more mistakes than he used to.

This is got be a joke, I may start a worrying decline thread for Essien and A Cole tomorrow. Apart from the last game, Anelka has been the most creative player for us for the last 5-8 matches. He hold the ball well, set up others, and scored some important goals, e.g. against Porto.

If you look back, you will see that Scott was indeed jesting!

Well Geezer isnt in there. None of those noses are red enough.
Meeow. You must still have an aftertaste from your food at the Blue Elephant

One of those guys must be Coco.

Nico has been class this year, his work rate has been quality and the goals he has scored have been crucial-apoel away, liverpool home etc

lets not worry after one loss seeing as i guarentee if we had won these threads wouldnt exist

Yeah, come to think of it, Ashley Cole, Essien and Drogba have all looked a bit off-key lately...

An actual concern might be the worrying decline of Joey Cole...

Ahem, careful!

Joey has never been the most athletic of players. Even when fully fit, he's always looked as though he lacks stamina - despite the stats that show he covers a lot of ground.

But I must admit, I am concerned about his condition. He still has the touch and still has a good footballing brain with a good eye for a pass and he can still run at players, but he isn't doing it anywhere near as often and he doesn't look up to lasting 90 minutes. How long can we use the injury lay-off as an excuse?

Not writing him off, as will always have faith in his ability, but it's as well we have Kakuta getting some decent playing time now as he could be our future No. 10.

For me anelka has been great this season hes more of a provider for goals. disapointed with recent results every team goes true a bad patch and good teams bounce back and where betr then good.

Anellka, Drogba, there is not a better pairing in England, maybe Europe.
