I'm half expecting an announcement of "new duties" for at least a couple of the sporting director department ...

They've done a good job at getting rid of the dross they signed, but the fact they signed them in the first place surely now has to have some accountability, especially given the cumulative multi-year impact on sporting achievement and commercial revenue.

Yeah, hopefully they'll call their demotions as transferring to new roles/duties. Like the Trump administration.

They should genuinely just stick to selling players.

Someone mentioned this in another thread, but it’s hard to believe Alonso’s influence alone is responsible for undoing four years of errors in a matter of weeks. There has to be more at play behind the scenes.

I remember reading somewhere at the start of summer, Eghbali decided to get more involved and sort of put the sporting directors to one side.

Which seems true. We’ve barely heard anything about them this summer.
