We need to find someone as good as Van Dijk. Look at how he has transformed Liverpool.

 
I think Garbriel Barbosa would be worth a punt as a striking option. Struggled in europe previously, although as we have seen with coutinho, sometimes that move comes too soon for players. He seems to have found his form again, 43 goals last season, amd his loan has just expired.

Think 18 other PL clubs could do with signing a VVD too, actually make that 19, Liverpool would happily take 2 of him as a pairing over anyone else as well.

Coutinho is another player who is small of stature ... we have too many midgets already so hope we pass and prioritise some world class 6+ footers to sprinkle through our spine instead ....

The hair must be 5cm on it's own surely, so that would make him 185 ?

He has a good leap so I think he is effectively "taller" than his actual height, but agree a couple of ball-playing sturdy 6 foot 3 or 4 chaps wouldn't go amiss in the centre of our defence.  Zouma with passing ability basically ...

Totally agree. Largely this is the reason everyone has been after Koulibaly for about 4 years. He's 195 and passes well. 

Same reason Conte threw the toys from the pram when we didn't attempt to sign VVD. Complete all round centre backs. They are as rare as hens teeth. Easy to forget how good JT was on the ball as well as being a beast of a defender.

 
Gary Cahill was also good on ball when he first started at Chelsea. obviously Ricky Carvalho too. Moving on...

if I look at who we could buy that is the selling club will sell this window and who is at least somewhere round the chelsea standard:

Ake

Zaha

and there must be a left back  

personally I wouldn’t want a striker of any lesser quality than Werner  and even he might be a gamble  Strikers and goals drive team morale  the team has to believe on the No 9  

 
January is a hard window to get quality as teams want a premium for them and Marina is a tough negotiator. If we get anyone it will be late in the window.

I would not be surprised if we do not sign anyone, maybe signed for ahead of the summer window on loan back like Pulisic.

 
I think we will get someone, and most likely Ake (or a left back) and Moussa Dembele. 

Koulibaly, Telles, Chilwell, Sancho, Ousmane Dembele, etc just isnt happening in January.

Because we need players right now, not just next season. I wasn't even a fan of that Pulisic deal, I actually thought he would have been much off if he had joined us in January. He would have been able to adapt to the league better and he may have been a more consistent player for us this season.

He was a big part of a title winning team. It’s clear his head is in a bad place at the moment so obviously he’s not doing well.

He’s never been good enough for us so I don’t really see why you feel enraged about it all, based on your username, Dross Stinkwater. If there’s anyone you should be enraged at it’s the Chelsea board for allowing the transfer to happen. Not Danny’s fault.
