West Ham v Chelsea (PL) Sat 24th Apr 2021 17:30 GMT

Same team as above bar Mount out for Kovacic, Werner out for Havertz,

Werner Havertz Mount

Chilwell Kanté Jorgi James

Rudiger Christensen Azpi

Mendy
I'm close to this, my take:

            Werner  Havertz

                 Mount

Chilwell  Jorgi  Kante  CHO (or James)

    Rudiger  Christensen Azpi

                Mendy

This is a must win now, especially after Brighton. We tend to do well against better opposition and I think we might do alright here.

I’ll predict a close 2-1 to us.

West Ham will definitely attack us from the start and hope to build a lead. We will probably need to weather the storm early and for sure we need to take the opportunities we get on the break. For all the goals West Ham score they let a lot in too. We need to take advantage of their defensive lapses.

Mason mount has played the most matches and most minutes for us this season. Hopefully he is given a rest before vthe inevitable happens. I will also suggest resting rudiger.

                          Mendy

       Azpi.       Christensen.   Zouma

CHO.      KANTE.    Jorginho.       Chilwell

        Pulisic.      Havertz.      Werner

Tough one with RM next week we could have done with resting one or two especially Mason but I don’t think we can afford too. Should have had his rest v Brighton instead of playing in the position he did, anyway

mendy

Dave Silva rudi

reece jorge kante chilly

mount Havertz Werner

tempted to put zouma in instead of Dave as their biggest threat will be Soucek pulling onto the RCB and beating him in the air.
hopefully 3 up at ht and we can take Mason off for a rest

Tough game no doubt. Hopefully our players are in a good mindset. All this ESL talk and Real game looming early next week.

On paper, those fixtures look like we’ll need to win the European Cup or rejoin the ESL to play top level European football next season.

I have no doubt that this current Chelsea squad is not up to much by the standards we’ve seen in the Roman era, but these comments by Allardyce should if nothing else make them at least decide to put some effort and determination into their performances.

Manager Sam Allardyce said his side "couldn't cope" with Leicester, who he added are "only behind Manchester City on that performance".

"You can see why Leicester are where they are in the league and why they are in the FA Cup final," he added. "Leicester are a lot better than Southampton and far better than Chelsea. They are as good as the top boys."

Hard one to call, as the Hammers can really hurt us. Compared to us, they're fresh as daisies too.

I'm giving myself some more time to come to a prediction. I've been inundated by requests to do my reverse psychology prediction thing again, as it worked brilliantly for the FA Cup semi final. With only important matches for the next 4 weeks or so, it's a scary burden.

BTW now that Lampard hasn't got a gaffer's influence anymore, can we call them pikeys again, or has that been permanently banned? It's an insulting word, isn't it?

f**k him.

I’m more worried about Fulham than West Ham. Fulham fall into the West Brom and Brighton category for our selection and effort. We’ll probably turn up for this one.

It breaches the EU Court of Human Rights so caution would be advised.

I was hoping WBA  would take a point or points off of Leicester yet not this time.

WHU have a couple of players out, think Rice is one so TT needs to get his tactics right.

West Ham have Rice, Cresswell and Masuku out to injury and Dawson out due to suspension.

We really should be beating them and if we struggle to score against them (Especially considering Newcastle and Arsenal put 3 past them) we might as well give up on the league and focus on the cups.
