I'm with you on that, Maksimov. It's nearly as puke-making as Céline Dion singing the gruesome song from Titanic!

 
you lot are obviously not fans of the power ballad. some of the best songs ever written are power ballads

Power ballads = long shiny trench coats, ridiculous perms, clenched fists and shut eyes when singing, dry ice, CBS, over-production, too many chords, inane lyrics, standing alone in a desert and being filmed by a speeding helicopter, too poncey to be hetero blokes - to uncool to be gay, women who look like poodles, spandex, yellow frilly blouses and a whole lot more that we should shudder to recall.

Sit yourself down with a can of Stella, listen to the following five songs and come to your senses...

1. Complete Control - The Clash

2. Suffragette City - Bowie

3. Rocks off - The Stones

4. Get up off that thing - James Brown

Pretty much a bunch of impulses with a little help from their ventricle friends (see I was listening Mrs Duffus although I do admit to setting the desk on fire - what do you expect if you give teenagers access to neat alcohol and a bunsen burner)
