Which squad will deliver the title?

Same old same old from me. You can't win the league with one striker. What's costa going to do, play 90 minutes for 60 games? We will finish 3rd or 4th unless we sort this out, like we have every season torres is involved.

We nearly won it last season without a world class striker

 
I am very confident that we will win it this season. We haven't gone out and splashed needless amounts of money as we have done in previous seasons, we've been quick and ruthless in how we've gone about our business and signed players in the positions we need, with the quality that we need. In reference to the previous post, we fought basically until the very end with very average strikers. This year we have a huge bulking centre-forward, who won't lose confidence as easily as Torres and will battle until the death. He doesn't have to be a revelation this year, he just needs to be as clinical as we know he can be.

 
I think United will have a good season and be right up there. Winning the league is more about the manager than the squad. Look at Fergie and how kept winning despite not always having the strongest squad. Pellegreni and Wenger dont impress me one bit.

Why would a striker need to play 60 games to win the league, the league is only 38 games.

Anyone know Costa's appearance total last season? Its got to be around 50+

That has never happened. He played a couple of games there last season or the season before, and I think he scored a hat trick against Newcastle.

Arsenal have played group up top for last 2 seasons, and before that they can persie.

He played 52 matched last season, according to wikipedia, which isn't too bad. The English league might be more physically intensive but he appears to be built for it, and despite what people assume he doesn't actually get suspended that much. There's always a chance he could pick up an injury, and without him our strike force would be even weaker than last season. That said, although he missed several games last season with minor thigh and hamstring injuries, he does not appear to be particularly injury prone.

The thing is with speculating about potential injuries is that its purely that, speculative. If Fabregas gets injured the midfield will look a bit pedestrian.

If Hazard gets injured we lose our only attacking midfielder who has proven he can consistently provide goals and assists.

Any key player gets injured we will miss them, for some reason there seems to be an assumption that Costa is going to miss a significant part of the season.

 
Why are we always favourites? Can't we have the pressure off us for once?! Man city will still be under pressure after winning the league, and pellegrini claiming to have the best squad in the league.
