with the interesting cobham tournament thread and people volunteering to play if there was a team

i was wondering if anyone still plays football of any kind on a regular basis?

also a few other questions which can be answered regarding members football

i have played 5-a-side on a regular basis for the last 3 years, i played yesterday for the first time in 9 weeks, but providing i dont pick up any injuries, which i seem to pick up a lot, hence not playing for a while, i will play wednesdays and sundays thrughout the summer and then just sundays in the winter

what position do you (did you) play? started in goal (primary school and high school)

right back in my pub football days, and defense in my 5-a-side

who do you (did you) play for? i played for a number of pub teams

Have you ever coached football at any level? i have coached youth football for 8 years

I used to play five a side 3 time a week, but the team folded about 3 months agos.

Down south played five a side and full matches, playing for the Navy( am a Civvy) against the Army and Airforce.

Position: In Eleven a side usually Striker, Five a Side anywhere needed.

Which Player I Prentended to Be.....Tried to be Kerry Dixon or David Speedie.

Have you Coached at any level: Set up and managed a Kids team for 4 years, got them playing a 3-5-2 formation, and was fairly successful. Some of the team went on to play non-league football.

Played in a charity match against Roger Black, Kris Akabusi, Matt LeTiss, claim to fame nutmegged LeTiss, and then he clattered me 5 minutes later for being a smart A**e...

Not played for sometime now... but used to play in a 5 a side league when I worked for Safeways back in the day... we created a team of players and used to get together on a Sunday for games and there was so much interest we applied for the Sutton 5 a side Floodlight League and got in...

what position do you (did you) play? Used to play Defence, but was prone to taking the ball into midfield areas and having a pop at goal from time to time... scored a couple of decent ones including a goal during the Sutton Cup competition that was held at Kingstonians we ended up going out though in the end... I remember when we played our first game in the 5 side league and I was been closed down by two of the opposition with my back to goal and I could hear my keeper saying " back to me, back to me " so without looking I give it a flick behind me to turn around and watch my keeper scramble to keep it out and I scored an own goal after only 10 minutes....

We won that game 23-3 in the end and stupidly thought that we would walk this division... then we came up against a team called Prime builders and got crushed 24-1 lol

who do you (did you) play for? We formed the New Malden Celtics ( still have the kit ) a good friend of one of the players sorted us out with it...

which player did you pretend to be whilst growing up?A bit like when the wife jumps out on you late at night with hardly anything on.. playing didn't give you much time to think of anyone else..

Have you ever coached football at any level? never, but should imagine that if you got them at the right age it could be very fulfilling...

have you ever played with or against someone that made it to the big time (famous footballer)?A lad called Byron who used to play for us had trials with Tottenham and Chelsea but his Dad stepped in and stopped it happening for him at the time, said he wanted him to concentrate on his education... probably one of the best players I have ever played with.. he used to have this ability to make the game seem like it was being played in slow motion... he was a stocky lad and he had great eye for the pass. don't know where he is or what he is doing now, but a great team player...

who do you (did you) play for? Berkshire School Boys, Great Hollands Aces, Sperry Dynamo, (all in Bracknell, Berkshire) Sainsbury's Head Office Employee Team

which player did you pretend to be whilst growing up? Clive Walker, Kerry Dixon

Have you ever coached football at any level? Little bit for my nephews team but only one season.

Well I know a lot people in the UK say this, but yes I had a trial at Southampton.. failed but thought and most thought I played well..Guess who was at that trail and was a weedy little twerp but turned up with his Dad who clearly was sleeping with the selectors... Alan Shearer ! ....I (and the rest of the plyers to be honest) ran rings round him

who do you (did you) play for? School and District before my parents sent me to a rugby boarding school! A few college and clubs games after that.

which player did you pretend to be whilst growing up? The Cat, Banks and Lev Yashin

have you ever played with or against someone that made it to the big time (famous footballer)? No, but my dad played goalie for the reserves at Doncaster Rovers

what position do you (did you) play? Midfield or up-front, I'm left footed so usually on the left-wing.

who do you (did you) play for? I played for my primary and secondary school teams and a bit of 5-a-side but other than that just with my mates in the park on a Sunday

I played at centre mid (the Maka role!)

I was likened at my prime to David Batty - that's when I gave up playing.

Player I pretended to be - either Dixon or Speedie (depended largely on who my brother was being), and for some reason if I was in goal I used to be Dino Zoff?????

Caoching - I've first done my first badge in preparation for my son to ask me to manage his team.

Played against?????? Frank Lampard on a regular basis.

who do you (did you) play for? Years ago, when I was still at school, I forget the name of the team, but we used to wear West Ham shirts because none of us supported West Ham. Later signed on for a couple of pub teams (come on you Rebels!) and a team called Chelsea Spartans, all Chelsea fans, we used to train at Chelsea School and Eelbrook Common, playing at, for instance, Mitcham Common, Merton Common, Morden Common and Wormwood Scrubs,

which player did you pretend to be whilst growing up? When I was a nipper? Probably George Best.

Have you ever coached football at any level? Not even Subbuteo.

who do you (did you) play for? Saturdays : Merton in the Southern Amateur League

Sundays : Trafalagar FC in the Morden & District, Still play for Merton Vets and Last Orders a 5 a side team on a Thurs night

which player did you pretend to be whilst growing up? Charlie Cooke !!! If only............

Have you ever coached football at any level? Player/Managed Tudor Villa FC for 3 years in the Morden & District

Played against Sinjuns Vets that included David Price (ex Arse) Butch Wilkins and Kenny Sansom (we lost 4-1 and Price scored the best volleyed goal I have ever witnessed !!!)

who do you (did you) play for? Few local clubs and one unsuccessful trial at a London club

Have you ever coached football at any level? Yes under 13 team great set of kids also took them to a tournament in Holland and placed highest english team very proud of them that day

have you ever played with or against someone that made it to the big time (famous footballer)? Yes played with a bloke who went on to play for Millwall and Watford. Probably more than that but don't remember names, also played against Hamburg U16's and Grasshoper Zurich U16's so presume a few of them made it at some point.

who do you (did you) play for? Got on Brentford's books, scored 6 goals in 5 games then got kicked out for not being good enough

have you ever played with or against someone that made it to the big time (famous footballer)? Russell Osman who played for Ipswich was playing for the opposition and was marking me. I got kicked to Kingdom come!
