Admitted? Don't you mean "alleged"? Havelange being every bit as self-serving as Sepp Blatter when he was FIFA President. And that's not all. This excerpt from Havelenge's Wikipedia page gives an idea of the character or the man whose word you're asking us to take:Former FIFA president Joao Havelange admitted that the 66 world cup was fixed. He said Referees and official were paid off to make sure they let the top players on other teams be fouled without free's our cards given. Their were also questionable offside decision given against Brazil and Portugal. Personally I don't blame the English team, players, or manager. If their was a fix, It most likely came form higher up in the FA or maybe from the government. England had allot to gain by winning the World cup. It was probably a huge economic boost. Maybe the FA wanted to make sure England won it, Would have been worth allot of money to everyone evolved,
"In May 2006 British investigative reporter Andrew Jennings' book Foul! The Secret World of FIFA: Bribes, Vote-Rigging and Ticket Scandals (Harper Collins) caused controversy within the football world by implicating Havelange in an alleged international cash-for-contracts scandal following the collapse of FIFA's marketing partner ISL, and revealed how some football officials have been urged to secretly repay the sweeteners they received. In 2011, Jennings told Brazil's Senate that Joao Havelange may have amassed $50m or more in bribes through a front company called Sicuretta."
