Deutschland, natürlich.

The Germans are always likely to have a good run but do they have a striker good enough to lead the line for them?
'Ohhhhhhh... Sein Name ist André Schürrle und er ist der Spielführer von die Mannschaft, was Mannschaft? Die besten Fußball Mannschaft, die Welt hat jemals gesehen.'

Doesn't quite work in German...

I'm not sure Schürrle is the player to lead them to the world cup up front.

I understood "Andre Schurrle",

That's about it.

Think Tommy Baldwin.

I'm not sure Schürrle is the player to lead them to the world cup up front.
Sie haben kein Vertrauen in André? André ist groß!

*Sorry, I'll stop now.

Ah zer gute!
(Ach so, sehr gut!)

Yep, had a test today which I think I aced: the only question that tripped me up was the meaning of the word ruhig, apart from that I'm fairly certain I got everything right.

It was worth 10% of our grade so I was anticipating something dreadfully hard, thankfully it wasn't too difficult.

We don't spend any time memorising football chants in German, sadly enough, but there are three fellow Fußball-Fans in the class (2x Bayern, 1x Chelsea).

I took one year of German (forced to) when I was at school... I'm awful at foreign languages so I tip my hat to you for doing so well.

Ha, don't lavish me with too much praise yet, we're very much in the 'training wheels' phase at the moment!

I think Brazil are quite emotionally fragile. i can see a side like Spain or Italy snagging a goal or two against them and Brazil simply crumbling under the pressure.
With the additional enormous pressure of being expected to win their home tournament. Losing in the final the last time they staged it in 1950 is still considered a national tragedy.

I have a feeling Italy will do well. Not because they have a particularly good team, but they're savvy operators and usually follow up a bad tourament with a good one.

I guess our squad (Holland) will drop first round, what a terrible team we have. Belgium could be the dark horse, though they lack that 'over my dead body' spirit.

My money's on Brazil, great attacking players combined with a CB couple existing of Thiago Silva and David Luiz, might be a winning combination. Adding to that home advantage and true Southern American spirit.

Wel! Ik zag op dit 'Internationaal Topic' een poging tot wat Duitse communicatie.

Kunnen we niet achterblijven, Teddy!

Vandaar.

I was going to vote for Australia...but turns out their not even in the poll. Wtf? As if Spain, Netherlands, and Chile even have a chance!

I'd like England to have a good tournament though. They have some exciting young players in Ross Barkley, Sterling and Oxlade-Chamberlain.

It'll be between Germany, Brazil, and Spain for me though. A Germany vs Brazil gf would be ridiculously epic.

Brazil and Spain favourites for me, but thr Argentine firepower is amazing.

Shame they don't have as much strength elsewhere. Wouldn't mind Argentina.

Messi

Aguero

Higuain

Tevez

Di Maria

I quite enjoyed German lessons at school. I got great grades in it but like a muppet, I stopped learning it when I left. May take it up again. I still know some basic German but it would be nice to have a degree of fluidity in it so I can go to Germany some day and not be treated like a typical tourist with a phrase book in hand.

I predict Brazil. However, my dark horses are Belgium. I can also see Chile and Columbia going far.

My world cup predictions, it's a bit foreign but it was the only one that had big flags on it to make it easy to see on the forum

Somehow I had England getting all the way to the Quarters, turns out if we get through our group we'll probably have a decent r32 draw even if we come 2nd in our group.

I think there will be too much pressure on Brazil and I can't see them doing it.

Everyone is saying Belgium are a dark horse and we all know their squad looks good on paper but for me they have too many individuals and they aren't quite there yet. The old cliché of never back against the Germans still rings true and of course Spain will be there or there abouts but I'm going for Argentina.

Then of course there is always England.....................................!!

No Tevez for Argentina.

Remember no European nation has ever won a S/America WC.

World cup starts 4 weeks tomorrow.

I think Argentina will beat Brazil in the final.
