Why there was a case for the big money transfer

All in all in all, if I was in control of transfers I'd sign Lukaku and Neymar in january, Aguero, Rodwell and Hamsik in the summer. Players who I think should make way for these would be Kalou and Ferreira, in the summer and possibly Anelka/Zhirkov.

So you'd replace two strikers with a striker and a right back?! We need cover at right back considering both Boss AND Ivan are out injured at the moment.

just because there injured at the moment doesnt mean they'l be injured in the january or next summer 2 senior right backs is plenty

i now what u mean about the money but replacing world class players will cost money, we might if were lucky bring through 1 or 2, but we will need to spend to stay in the top 5 teams in europe. thats y im surprised and slightly disappointed we didnt bring in 1 this summer. Neymar would have been a start. Aguero would have been a statement. 150mil over 2 seasons is a hell of a lot but 150 over 3/4 years isnt astronomical in our circumstances.

I guess we'l find out over the next 2 seasons whether we'l be back in the market in a big way. Personally I think roman will dig deep again when he feels its absolutley necessary. but he prob feels as long as our team is dominating domestically he can hold off a bit with the big spending.
