We want it more than them.

We have better players than they do.

We owe them.

They don't have that special atmosphere for the second leg.

I know Liverpool (not just benitez but the whole club) put everything into this one competition each year, but we're a team that has played together, that know's each other and that has succeeded and failed together. That makes us a bloody strong unit to face the scum. I know they've put us out before, but surely that gives us the advantage - not only is it about the Champions league, but it's about revenge. A big thing this year is that the famous anfield roar will have to see them home and dry because it's the Bridge in the second leg this time.

Avram may have finally found some balls. And if he hasn't the players will do it without him like they have already this season.

2003 - 3 points better than them.

2004 - 19 points better than them.

2005 - 37 points better than them.

2006 - 9 points better than them.

2007 - 15 points better than them.

2008 - 12+ points better than them.

Weve scored 95 points more than them over the last 6 seasons.

Equates to 31 league wins (and 2 draws) more than them in 6 years.

 
We have always been a better team than Liverpool in every perspective. So even if we dont win it doesnt matter. Chelsea is a far better team.

Always? :D There's no doubt we're better right now, and in the past 5 seasons or so, but the game could still go either way I reckon.

I'm not nervous...yet. Not sure why, though. Maybe it's because I've got a feeling that the first leg will not decide anything. I hope I'm right and there will be all to play for in the second leg. Ofcourse I wouldn't mind if we totally thrashed them at Anfield, but I don't feel too confident about our attacking play at the moment. If our attacking players keep struggling, hopefully the defence will do their job and keep it tight.

 
not really that nervous, im never that bad before the 1st leg game. will be next week though.

For some reason I'm more relaxed than usual about the semi. That may change of course but I think a lot of that is down to my expectations this season. After our capitulations in other cup competitions I'm more realistic going into this one. In previous seasons I felt really confident that we could beat Liverpool and so was devastated when we didn't.

This season I'm much less confident in our ability to beat Liverpool and it will be less surprising to me if we once again go out in the semi. But as a Chelsea supporter over the last 4 decades the one thing I know is that Chelsea tend to pull these results out of the bag when you least expect it. So for that reason alone I've got a feeling that this will be our time. I have a feeling we may well need a rub of the green to do it but I doubt any of us would care how we do it.

Can we win the whole thing? That is another matter. I won't even think about that for now.
