Jonty, hey brother keep it cool. You can't wish my country to lose to Moses can come back.

Btw, I remember you all thought that Moses wasn't Chelsea's standard. How wrong he's proven you all.

I want my country to go as far as possible in this competition and if that means Moses staying put for National assignment, so be it!
Well obviously you want your country to go through, and us who are not from Nigeria couldn't give a damn how well they do, that's a fair thing to say. The sooner we get Moses back the better it is for Chelsea.

I am one of those people who didn't think Moses was Chelsea class, i still don't think he is really that special to be honest but he can be affective at times. He has a long way to go yet before he proves me wrong.

That was some shaky defending from Nigeria as CIV equalized. Good freekick from the Drog nevertheless. Looks like the young Nigerian side is getting tired/nervous.

Ivory Coast is inviting Nigeria to attack but they are not doing it. Moses especially has pace but he just slows down. Maybe Nigeria is tired after that good first half. Doesn't look good for them if that continues.

We have squad full of great international level players. If they are not enough there is only the manager to blame. R.O.

No offence but having never even been to Africa I couldn't really care less over who wins ACON, I just don't understand why this tournament has to happen every year when a far bigger footballing continent like Europe is satisfied with every four.

Anyone see the late game last night with Togo?

The pitch was laughable while the football on show was seriously dire.

It doesn't happen EVERY year. The tournament takes place in consecutive years now only because they want to change it so that the African Cup of Nations won't take place in the same year as the World Cup. It's easy for Europeans to say that they should have their championship tournament every four years when UEFA has almost as many places in the World Cup as there have been teams in the Euros. Top European teams get top quality matches every two years and even most of the qualifiers are tough matches. If African football wants to evolve, they need to play tough competitive matches and I don't see any other way for them to do that(ACON every two years).

You think playing a month of fixtures (or less for most of the teams) every 2 years will evolve their players by the matches being tough and competitive?

Those players are playing far tougher and more competitive games in the EPL or Serie A or wherever they are playing.

I understand why Europes clubs don't like the players going to this as from what I seen last night those pitches look like a sand pit in which injuries look certain to be picked up.

I think I heard them say that stadium was being used for the Semi Final too which if true is a farce, I wouldnt allow any pro to play on that kind of surface! It makes Fir Park look like a bowling green.

The players will learn the most from their day to day football, but what about the national teams? Yes, there are African players playing in Europe, but if they rarely played together, how would their national teams make any progress?

SAND :wtf:

They have been using that pitch all tournament, it's an absolute joke of a competition. The ball never stops bouncing, even when it was rolling you could see the ball bubbling up and down. There literally hasn't been a good thing to say about the African Nations this year. Rubbish pitches, rubbish refs, rubbish football, rubbish footballers    Good luck choosing the player of the tournament. I could player better than these players, nearly every shot is ballooned over the bar, it's just awful, they can't even string a few passes together and create a decent move, it really is the worst football competition i have seen in my life.

Top sides would be insane to buy any players from Africa right now.
