Alex Sandro

I feel crushed now we're not getting Sandro. I've been clinging on to the dream of us signing a world class player in Sandro on deadline day... Why do we do this to ourselves? Stones, Koulibaly, Naingollan, now f*cking Sandro.

I'll include Rooney in that as well, I got really excited when we were bidding for him. I've always rated him as a domestic footballer not international, even though it was a blessing in disguise as we signed Costa instead but I think he would have been a joy to watch with Mata and Hazard. Anyway back to the point, we seem too happy to keep chasing targets all summer only to shoot ourselves in the foot.

I miss the days where we go ahead and sign the likes of Ballack and Ashley Cole without any complications or haggling.

You mean the Ashley Cole deal that dragged to late August?

Wouldn't really put Stones and Koulibaly on the world class scale . Even the other 2 are debatable. Sure good players in their own right but world class? I beg to differ.

Just can't wait for this window to done with now......I'd like to say something positive but I am having a hard time with this torrid mess; still there might be a couple of surprises over the next couple of weeks.....but Sandro it seems won't be one of them.

Sorry Tom looks like you didn't make it...

Couldn't they figure it out a bit sooner?
You mean make a bid and then when Juve refused and said he isnt for sale then move on? If we operated like that we wouldnt have signed anyone. Its always assumed moving on is so easy, but every club is going to say that initially, the key is offering a deal that is too good to refuse. Whether or not they could have reached this conclusion sooner doesnt really matter, as they will continuisly have pursued other targets. And to be fair, any other year and we would have reached a deal for Sandro by now, but the ridiculous transfer fees beeing paid has completely ruined the market. We still could have gotten Sandro if we wanted, but we would have to pay well over 100 mill, and Roman would never sanction that.

What makes you think so? If anything, our recent struggles demonstrate that whenever we chase the player for a long period of time, we end up with nothing.

Wasn't saying they were world class, they're examples of what we've been doing constantly over the past few summers.

You feel crushed? Lol, I don't really feel bad about it because the few times I watched him last season he doesn't look like the type of defender we should spend more than 40-50 to sign, he doesn't look a top player to me. The only reason I want him here is because Conte and majority here thinks he will improve us a lot. So if the deal doesn't materialize after we have bid more than 55m for him, then am OK with us looking somewhere else.

I think Naingollan is world class but most people wont know because he is playing for an average team. If Vidal never moved to Juventus and Bayern, most people will just think of him as a good player.

Would we really be chasing this player if he wasn't open to a transfer at some point in this window?

I don't believe we were chasing without reason to believe he would actually join us, I just think Juventus really don't wanna let him go (that's their right if he's under contract). We need to move on if we hadn't already, and get another target. The silence is frustrating as it seems like we're not really doing anything else in the transfer market currently.

Because this time we werent f**king around with 20 million like we did Stones. We offered a world record for a defender and it was turned down. Theres also a reason things drag out, most transfers that does isnt completed. We arent the only team that drags out transfers or bid on players we end up not getting. We have completed several high profile transfers early, sometimes that jus isnt possible.
