From what I understand the world record fee was offered and turned down yesterday or day before yesterday. It's 16th or 17th of August. Even if Matt Law found out of our interest the very same day we decided to after Sandro, it's still pretty much the whole summer. If we end up without Sandro, then it makes sense to ask: why haven't we got it over with earlier? We had all summer to figure out the plan of action and we ended up doing the same stupid sh*t we did with the players already mentioned here, just drag it out till it's too late. 

The high profile transfers you're referring to weren't completed early. Early is when the player starts a preseason with his new team.

We know Conte wanted Walker and Danilo. City got both. I'm sure Lukaku was our first choice to replace Costa. I'm not a fan, but it was obvious that we have missed out probably because we were overly confident he'll be ours anyway. Now this Sandro saga, that looks too painfully familiar, because we go through the same ordeal summer after summer.

Real Madrid have chased Mbappe all summerdoes that make useless or idiots for not getting him? 

I don't really see the issue in chasing one of the best left backs in the world all summer even of there is only a slim chance of getting them.

He will vastly improve our team whereas any one else available won't, Alonso is a very decent LWB so upgrading him is very difficult whereas finding a back up isn't.

Especially when we already have 2 on the books admittedly both look likely to leave.

This is a strange one, by now we should have moved away from him. Somehow we are still chasing after him means he has some interest, just not sure if it's strong enough to force a move.

You can't be serious. Real Madrid have the best squad in the world, they're the only club to win the CL back-to-back. They're so good they can afford to lose the likes of Morata and James Rodriguez and still not skip a beat. If we had a squad anywhere near their depth and quality I could live with missing out on players on occasion, although that doesn't happen to them often. We currently don't have a single player that can break into their first eleven and their former backup striker is our best option upfront.

We, on the other hand, have Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso as our starting wingbacks. I like them both and will support them as long as they wear CFC shirt but there isn't a single top club in Europe that would have them as starters.

First off Real Madrid, did not chase Mbappe all summer. I even doubt they send official bid for him. They decide to give Bale another season and then decide what will do with him. Also Real is not in hurry, while we was. Already 2 matches are done and we lose both of them. We should have act a lot faster here and move on. Send one, second, and look at other choices anf if you really want that guy, send final offer or simply ask how much and if not happen, then you need to move on, or you will end up f**k..

The only reason I want him here is because Conte and majority here thinks he will improve us a lot. Agree with everything except the highlighted. Hazard and tibo would walk into their first 11, and the only reason dave and kante wouldn't is because those positions are covered, but standard wise they are good enough. Morata is far better than benzema but wasn't happy to be a back up dancer to Ronaldo, he is a number 9 that wants to play as one. Agree on Alonso and VM, they did well, I like alonso especially but they arent good enough lets face it.

I've actually spoken to a Real Madrid fan who was very disappointed with the loss of Morata. He watches the club, week in, weak out and he believes Morata is the better player but his link up play with Ronaldo isn't as good as Benzema's therefore, Karim gets played more.

Standard, that's the reason not his quality, it's not a whacky theory that really is the reason, Benzema isn't nearly as good as Morata.

Forgot about Courtois, but as for Hazard, the only two players he can replace in their starting eleven are CR and Bale and that's not going to happen.

They want him I imagine he wont be on the bench if they get him and they would give up bale in a heartbeat for hazard.

At this point, i wouldn't be surprised by any player we let go. The board doesn't seem to be that concerned by the size of the squad.

I said I haven't seen a lot of Sandro! If you want me to decide based on the little I have seen of him, then I will take Moses over him easily.
