Question: a few of you have talked about him being injury prone, made of glass, Studge Wilshere etc. but apart from this injury and a leg break at 16 he seems to have put in 30+ games a season since he was 19. Am I missing something?
Lampard.
Don't worry, we all are.

Whatever your thoughts on this transfer, we can all agree that the club-fed headlines going from 'Tottenham confident of signing Ross Barkley for £25m' to 'Tottenham end interest in Ross Barkley' in the space of about a week is hilarious.

Bakayoko is quite tall is he not?
I think he is also 189cm ... but Barkley would have better technique for sure :)

From Wikipedia:

Former Everton manager Roberto Martínez described Barkley as a mix of Paul Gascoigne and Michael Ballack.

England manager Roy Hodgson has said that Barkley's "pace and power" as well as his "excellent technique" are reminiscent of Paul Gascoigne

Frank Lampard stated that Barkley reminds him of a young Wayne Rooney.

Barcelona midfielder Xavi said in November 2014 that Barkley is good enough to play for the La Liga club, praising his physical and technical qualities

Fingers crossed eh !

It's quite funny reading the Everton fans reaction to this. They are pretty pissed that they went from getting £35m to £15m in only a few months. I have seen words like "traitor" and "a rat"

It's ok Everton, you can have him back in 10 years time and you can fall in love with him all over again like you have with Rooney
Next season's game at Goodison will be brutal.

Apparently the Mayor of Liverpool is going to try & open an investigation with the FA because he's butthurt we didn't sped 35m on an injured player.

I thought Barkley was like 5'10 or 11, but it's not about the length (of the body) but how you use it. Matic has height but doesn't win headers in midfield.

Barkley is more of a number 10 right? He would be competing with Cesc and I don't think he's winning that battle. In the middle he's not going to play ahead of DW either, honestly think he's not going to play much, this half season is just going to be about regaining fitness.

Cesc is getting on and both Bakayoko and Drinkwater have had injuries this season. It makes sense to get another midfielder and one that is multi-skilled. Just as long as the injuries do not reoccur.

I could see him playing behind Morata or more as the AM.  I do not see him necessarily in the same role as RLC though they could overlap.

Barkley would not have been my choice, I'm hoping he proves me wrong.

My man RB looking good in that Chelsea blue. Welcome my brother. Telling you now, this is a good signing. Still can't believe we got a England international for just £15 million. Do the number 8 shirt proud. The blue family are all behind you, Ross.

Can you open another thread for Alex Sandro, please?
I'll think about it. I also created the original De Bruyne thread years ago, before there were any real rumours, so I reckon Emenalo might have been subscribed to my posts.

So if you open another Alex Sandro thread, he will go to Monaco?

Love how Conte said he was a good 'prospect'....22 England caps....f**k tells you a lot about the standard of an England International if he is classed as a 'prospect'.  If Barkley plays to his full potential and shows patience, I'm sure he'll be a good buy; more so for next season than this though.  Probably won't make the bench for a few weeks....

I wonder if he'l be involved tomorrow? I know it's short notice, but he needs minutes for fitness.

We actually have some decent fixtures this month to try get him up to speed for the business end of the season.
