As an aside, I don't like these newspaper stings. It's entrapment and quite vicious in my opinion. 

 
Quite ridiculous. That being said don't think he's the type of manager England should have been looking to build for the future with anyway.

 
Steve Bruce it is then. He'll be an FA yes man. At the same time, I can see him giving a couple call ups to less heralded players. He was one of the best players to not get a cap when several inferior players did. 

Nigel Pearson thought to be under consideration as well. 

I wonder whom Stoke will line up now. 

Many Sunderland fans want Allardyce back.

What an idiot, worst of all I thought he was probably the best manager for us at this point in time, and now we'll end up with a useless plank like Steve Bruce.

That will be the same Nigel Pearson who was suspended by his club tonight then ?

What a bloody shambles yet again. Allardyce was always a chancer but ffs this is ridiculous.

 
Sam gone (shame, thought he was the best English manager out there), Bruce in no doubt. Not a great bunch to choose from is there?

Howe maybe but he's young and inexperienced. Pardew was flavour of the month a year ago but Palace have been dogsh*t since then.

Which is more painful right now, being an England fan or being a Chelsea fan?

 
Guy was set up big time which is never nice to see but you just cannot say stuff like he did when in a position like the England national manager.

He came across as a smug arrogant twat who thought he had made it, his world will come crashing down now.

These 'stings' are nothing new though so really guys like Sam should be well aware to stay away from conversations and people like that but his greed clouded his judgement sadly.

Firsty off, he is an utter fool. BUT I do feel a bit sorry for him, as this was such a dirty setup.

If someone offered you £400,000 for 4 dinner meetups and a chat you'd be hard pressed to turn it down, even if you were a millionaire. 

He probably felt he had to give them something for their money, but even still, he got too arrogant and this is the result.

No sympathy for him whatsoever. Pure greed. Not that he'll need to work another day in his life and no doubt there will be the book anytime soon.............

 
This is one of the lowest days in my football supporting life second only to relegation in 1988.....

I think I am rare on this forum, I am as much an England supporter as I am Chelsea. I love my country and my national team.

Being too young to know 1966 I have dreamt most my life of England hosting the world cup. When Blatter and co clearly corruptly gave it to Russia and Qatar I was outraged, we were the best nation who bid. For the next few years there was lots of finger wagging and pointing at FIFA and UEFA. Even in the champions league with the refs we had we smelt a rat of some sort of corruption going on....

Low and behold, it is an issue at the top of our game, although you might think me naïve I thought we, The FA and as a nation had a bit more moral fiber to us, clearly not, this has unearthed my deepest fears.... I don't think we will host a world cup let alone win one in my life time, this saddens me no end.

Personally as a replacement I think I would like Wenger, despite my hatred of all things Arsenal I have an underlying respect of him as senior figure in the game and I think the players would feel the same. Also I reckon he is squeaky clean.

We need to salvage something, this is depressing

 
All in all he still had 100% win percentage record. Such a ledge!

I think it's definitely time for a foreigner manager in charge, the fact that someone like Pardew is even mentioned is simply ridiculous...
