Ohhh please no.

The parasite that can course Malaria can stay in your system for a long time without making you sick. Which means that a mosquito can bite you and you get sick couple of months later. As soon as you develop symptoms of Malaria and you get medical threatment for it and you overcome it you are healthy. Dont know where you got the idea that it "stays in your system". Also Drogba didnt have Malaria tropica (the bad version of Malaria)...
Thank you Dr. gb. It's not at all impossible, to have bouts of recurring fever over a long period of time if it's not properly treated, which explains why Drogba didn't get any better for weeks before he was correctly diagnosed. However, you're certainly right that given he you'd presume been given a high standard of care that shouldn't be an issue. However, it's undeniable that the weakness is a continuing problem and that playing football and training 7 days a week wouldn't be helping his recovery.

So you're right on one angle, but if your looking to damn his performance by saying malaria's not that big of a deal then I'm not sure this conversation has anywhere to go.

Horrible little f**ker? Is that based on that incident alone? Jesus. It was hardly a hunt was it. Probably at most deserved a yellow but that's it in my view. Tell me dkw, what's your view of a 50-50 concerning strikers/attackers and goalkeepers?
Firstly, no its not just based on that one incident its based on plenty of sly little snidey kicks etc he`s done. Secondly, how is it a 50/50 when Cech already had the ball when he went in studs up? Im guessing your an Aussie? Would yuo think the same if it had been say Rooney on Schwarzer?

Speaking from an Australian perspective dkw, he is absolutely a physical player who throws everything into every challenge, how he doesn't give away more free kicks astounds me. That particular challenge was dangerous, and he should have been booked and JT was right to give him what for over it. That said as someone else has mentioned, Kalou broke Sorenson's arm scoring against Stoke doing a similar thing last season and no one really raised any eyebrows over the challenge, which could mean that we're being a little sensitive about Petr, which I suppose given all he has gone through is fair enough.

So for me it's a two sided coin, although of course I'm clouded by him being the only footballer from this country who isn't a hack.

dkw he's never struck me as a dirty player or a hard man per se like Kevin Muscat. I think if you view the footage he was committed at the same time that Cech had secured the ball. Is that reckless in those circumstances? I don't think so. And yes I'm an aussie but that is a cheap shot & entirely irrelevant. Perhaps you don't remember me from the previous Ashes thread...

Kalou`s was much more of a proper 50/50 than that one was on Cech, Cahill had no chance of getting it. I was surprised Kalou got away with his to be honest, but it was much more of a 50/50 and the ball was away from the keeper and he was reaching to collect it. Totally different situation. Cahills challenge was completely unnecessary and didnt need to be made.

Kalou was first to the ball, Sorensen was trying to prevent him from scoring and got hurt in the process, it was keeper's call to make and he went for it . Cech - Cahill incident was different in that Cech was first to the ball and already had it his possession by the time Cahill's boot landed on his face. Everton player took a risky unnecessary challenge where his chances of getting the ball were next to nothing but probability of injuring the other player was high, and that's exactly what happened.

Moyes is way out of line with his comments. Sometimes I wish Ancelotti wasn't such a nice guy because we've been getting quite a few decisions going against us lately. Ferguson has been intimidating referees for decades and Wenger is whinging every other week how his players are being mistreated. It's time to show some fight, on and off the pitch.

It was also a cheap shot presuming I decided he was dirty from just one incident was it not? He`s a sly snidey litlte f**ker who in the past has went in late, lashed out etc. As I said, it was a totally unnecessary reckless challenge and he knew exactly what he was doing.

Given the fact that Kalou got enough of the ball to score that's probably fair enough. I don't think Probert did himself any favours in terms of those kinds of incidents given the way he preferred a shake hands and get on with it approach rather than a card for a foul deserving of one approach. Challenges like Neville's and Cahill's never would have happened if the players didn't think they would get away with it. Now in both cases our players JT and Malouda have been the one's criticised for reacting to those challenges. It's ridiculous really, if Malouda is suspended for the Neville incident I will lose it.

Well we agree to disagree then on the 50/50 thing. Let's face it - football is a game of inches and microseconds and all players make mistakes in tackles and going for the ball at times. As for Neville's face holding and Moyes' comments....well that was a bit rich.

One more thing Saaladin. I've just noticed that you state your most hated player to be Paulo Ferreira.

Again I find this incredible.
Yeah it's a bit harsh, but I just can't stand the guy as a player. Every time he sees the field I see him contribute to a goal in our net. He had better years for us in 04-05 but at this point he is a liability.

It's not like I hate the guy personally, I just don't like seeing him get so much playing time.

You guys are trying really hard to make me out to be anti-Chelsea. Let it go already.

Me too. It says a lot.

A. Obviously a short memory.

B. Only been following Chelsea since the double.

C. Drinks with Bluebeard at Weekends (what was your thoughts on Deco, Saaladin?)
I wasn't sad to see Deco go. He was a good passer of the ball, clever, but I don't think he had what it took to play in the premiership.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'm not trying to make you out to be anything. You came on here mouthing off about "the right way to play football" and moaning that you'd been watching "horrible football since August". Not to mention the hair splitting and slight shifts of emphasis that plagued our recent discussion. Flogging a dead horse? Banging my head against a brick wall, more like.

This latest: what I find incredible is that with so many legitimate non-Chelsea players to choose from (Steven Hunt, Steven Gerrard to name but two) you go for a current Chelsea player as your most hated.

Probert will also be asked to take another look at a lunging tackle by Branislav Ivanovic on Seamus Coleman, which David Moyes branded ‘disgusting’.
What the h*ll is that!?

I thought that the rules clearly stated that if the ref see something during the game it can't be changed after the game. Probert surely saw that "disgusting tackle" and he didn't give a freekick. So there's surely no f*cking way they can punish Ivanovic now!

As for Cahills tackle, anyone remember when Drogba got sent off in the CL after that tackle on Valdes. If that was a red, then Cahills tackle was surely a red as well.

Everton should have had one man sent off and two penalties against them. How Moyes can complain is beyond me.

The player that frustrates me the most when I see him on the field is Paulo Ferreira, so I put his name down. Of course there are a ton of other players to "hate" form other teams. But no one bothers me more than Ferreira because when I see him, I know trouble lies ahead.

So now you don't hate him, he merely frustrates you. I could say the same about you. I don't hate you, but the way you constantly shift the meaning and/or emphasis of your argument is as frustrating as hell. Again and again, you'll make a statement, then when that statement is addressed you'll come back with:

"but that's not what I meant at all".

The question asks the player you hate the most. For me, I just thought of the first player that has a negative effect on me and that was Ferreira. Whether it was Hate, frustration, irritation or annoyance... what's the difference? It's not like I know any premiership player personally. I have negative feelings towards Ferreira as a player so that is the answer I gave. Not trying to change any meanings and I never have in any of my arguments.

No? You wrote "none of them can pass" about Mikel, Essien and Ramires. And Malouda, who clearly doesn't impress you, all four of whom are the same kind of player, you wrote. Forgetting Essien and Ramires (and Malouda)I pointed you at Mikel's passing stats together with a supporting article. Ah you wrote, but not those kinds of passes. You meant "clever defence splitting passes". How silly of me not to have known you meant those kind of passes.

Dead horses for bricked up courses.

Actually it is quite silly of you... What kind of premiership player can't pass a ball? please tell me... Clearly I was talking about Midfielders that are skilled at making killer passes not just a push pass to feet that any 10 year old can accomplish. My argument was that we don't have a playmaker in midfield which is holding back our ability to connect so you should be able to put 2 and 2 together to realize what I meant by a good passer of the ball. Should.....

Well according to you Mikel can't pass. Neither can Essien or Ramires or Malouda, who you say are very much the same kind of player. Now you're saying that Mikel is a no better passer than your average 10 year old.

Your initial argument had nothing to do with a playmaker in midfield or anywhere else. You wanted a "good dribbler" and that was it. When I mentioned a Deco or a Lampard, you were still twatting on about this good dribbler of yours.

I'm out of it.
