The only certainty is the Met Police will be cancelling all leave for this one.
Another certainty is that I'll probably step in some horse sh*t.

I hope we smash the granny out of them and make Harry Kane cry and go into retirement due to being unable to cope with the absolute battering we give them.

Cahill or Zouma, Cech or Courtois?

Be interesting to see who Jose goes for.

Funny feeling he might go foe expierience (Cahill) although I'd go with Zouma as Cahill was given a torrid time last time out.

Courtios played the semi's and made crucial saves to get us here so should start IMO.

Courtois in goal, his heroics in both legs of the semi-finals means he deserves to play the final,

I'd go with Zouma over Cahill personally, especially after Harry Kane twisted Cahill in knots in the game at WHL.

I'd go with Zouma and Cech, I've been worried by Cahill's hot and cold performances.

Beating Spuds and winning a cup at the same time,it dont get no better than that........COME ON YOU BLUES!

We have West Ham away 3 days later in the league I think after this.

WOnder if we would have time to celebrate this should we win it?

We had west ham away up next after the 2008 final. Was nervous enough already about history repeating itself...

My son was born on 25th February 2008 so needless to say the last time we played the Spuds in a League Cup Final I was a little preoccupied, didn't watch the game and ultimately didn't really care that we lost at the time.

Nice to have a chance to see us make amends though, I've made sure to keep it in my pocket so there's no chances of missing the game this time around.

I'm almost certain that 2008 didn't happen - I genuinely can't remember it!  Either it's a sign of my age or subconsciously blocking it from my mind.

I was with my girlfriend at the time when the final was on so I was also distracted ;) but really want to take revenge but more importantly win the cup for the confidence of the team.

I was shocked when we were beaten, I looked at our team and theirs and thought easy win.

Will be much different this year since we already know how dangerous spuds can be.

Apart from the crap result in 2008 there are two other things I remember about the day: we got loads of stick from Spurs fans in a pub in Liverpool Street Station after the match;  and between the 90th minute and extra time. Players were getting team talks. Players were getting a team talk from Steve Clarke. Avram Grant didn't say anything which I thought was strange. Some managers rant and rave whilst others speak quitely to get the message over but to say nothing it bizarre.

As for this year I think I'll be wrecked by the end of Sunday. Am meeting up with some friends on Saturday for a session. Strong beers and whisky will be drunk. On Sunday it will be a few beers in a club before going to the game and no doubt a few after. May have to work from home on the Monday.

When we thrashed them 5-1 in the Semi 3 years ago, with the 6pm KO and many being on the 'juice' all day, i expected to witness a few 'offs' before the game.

Never witnessed any, apart from the usual verbals walking down Wembley Way, between both sets of fans. Saw more aggro before the final V Bindippers a month later.

Now that one I do remember.  Funny that.  Selective memory I guess.

Massive result for us tonight, Fiorentina equalising to make it 1-1 and getting the away goal.

Spurs have to play the away leg less than 3 days before Wembley and it gives us a massive advantage.

Pochettino may prioritise Wembley (I would if I were him) but Levy will want the CL football that the winners of the EL will gain, and as such Spurs may well field a strong side and it will be a tough game that involves travelling, maybe even extra-time.

Even if Spurs play their second string (which seems the logical thing to do), the manager's focus will still be diverted in the week building up to Wembley whereas we get a long rest.

Of course football isn't an exact science and these things often go out the window but playing in Italy on a Thursday night needing at least a scoring draw to have any hope of progressing plays right into our hands.
