Put it down to microphone placement/levels - on my stream you can hear Burnley AND Chelsea fans but not the players.

Perfect time to score .. it ha to come .. that we've had so much possession, they've made so many last ditch tackles, saves from the goalkeeper. it was only a matter of time.

1-0...half-time lead...thoroughly deserved...played some nice footy at times, although final pass or cross has let us down on occasion...thought the beast was going to have one of those games, but nice move at the end got a crucial gl...lovely pass by essien to drogba, crosses for anelka to tuck in...those two combine for third goal in a row

Quick thoughts.

1) How many times did we shoot exactly where the keeper was standing? Too many times to suit me.

2) Lamps clearly left his shooting boots at home.

3) Deco was making me scream at his laziness and sloppy passing.

4) Ballack looked great, by far our best midfielder.

5) Nice goal, but the giveaway at our end should have resulted in a Burnley goal. Who was the defender caught in possession?

6) Ashley Cole and Jose Bosingwa looked very lively moving forward on the wings.

Good solid first half, stand outs are Drogba and Essien, both playing very well, Lampard looks like he's having one of those days where nothing seems to be coming off for him, thought the same of Anelka until he scored.

I'm with Lofty regarding the noice from the fans. It's far from quiet in the stands.

As for the game I have to say that it is really nice to see a smaller team not go in and defend with every man on the pitch for 90 minutes. Burnley actually attacks sometimes and have their midfield high up at times. Really nice to see. Because of that we've had 45 minutes of entertaining football. Burnleys performance did drop in the end, but they still didn't give us too much.

Some sloppy passing at times though.

Their keeper has been excellent. At the right place at the time all the time.

The only bad thing about the game (apart from us only being one goal up) is the ref. He has been quite pathetic. But they always are when we play, so no surprise there -_-

Lamps is having a horrible game.

Sweet Waffle, you are right in that Essien is playing well, but he must have taken some shooting lessens from Mikel (which is not a good thing).

I saw nothing too wrong with his decisions, except for the non-foul call against Drogba.

What is your evidence to support your statement, Moosey?

Also disagree about the keeper, unless you give him credit for being lucky enough to be standing exactly where we are shooting the ball.

Essien does not score tap-ins, he goes for the shots that fall to him outside the area, mostly volleys and half volleys, he will miss lots, but when he gets it right its a beautiful sight, so dont knock his misses please. -_-

Yeah their keeper has hardly been stretched. Any keeper looks good when the ball is shot straight at him.

They come too seldom to suit my fancy, Coco, but I do see your point (Where is "Essien's Strike"?).

How come you still have that fake "banned" avatar?

Also, did anyone else notice that one time when Cech got a little frisky with the ball? It could have cost us dearly, and I am not sure why he does that from time to time (he is not Rene Higuita, I know).

I don't have time to compile a list of the errors the ref has made. Apart from the Drogba incident I can mention the time when Terry didn't even touch the opponent and he fell over and the ref gave them a freekick.

As for the keeper, well I guess you could call it being lucky, but you can also say they he has good positioning. An old swedish keeper (one of the best we've had) once said something like that if a keeper has to dive to make a save, then he hasn't had a good position (or else he hasn't read the game) or something like it.

Ballack topping off a good game so far with a nice header. Lampard with a nice ball for it too
