Kinda of a bumpy start but the 6 points are important. Lets hope we're well warmed up for our first important test next week,

Matic should get a mention as he put in a shift yesterday didn't stop running and covered well when others moved up the pitch leaving gaping holes in our defence ,  broke up several Leicester attacks and counter attacked instead of going sideways.

By omitting Torres and throwing Drogba on yesterday does anyone think Jose was sending a slight message to the board? Not in a vindictive way but just to show 'this is pretty much it if Costa gets injured/suspended'... Really hope we get another striker before the window slams shut.

Got Costa, Hazard and Cahill in my Dream team so it's not all bad! Lol

We battled well but the quality in the second half was too much for us. First goal was a bit unfortunate but the second was far too easy for a player of Hazard's ability. Ivanovic was immense

Agree that he put out a lot of fires but he was also caught in possession more times than is really acceptable for a DM. I think we were playing five or ten yards higher up the pitch than we are used to and I'm not sure Matic was entirely comfortable with that. Azpilicueta looked a little unsteady at first as well; I wonder how well the rest of our squad will adapt to a more expansive style of play.

Probably the worst time to play a promoted side, still on a high after last season and they came to give us a match. Sloppy first half, a lot of misplaced passes, caught in possession a lot, and were opened up too often. Even out of position, Dave is one of the best full backs around. Ivan was excellent too. We went up a couple of gears in the second, which is a good sign. For the second time in a week, Costa was in the right place at the right time, which is also a good sign. And if Torres is behind a 36-year-old, surely his days must be numbered.

I'm not sure it's the worst time to play a newly promoted side. At the start of the season they play positive football, trying to attack and score goals.

If we play them at the end of the season, chances are they will dig in and go all out in defence. At least now we had some space to attack.

I thought it was very much a mixed bag for Matic yesterday, made some great interceptions but also some bad mistakes. The kind of mistake that used to see Mikel hammered.

Solid win by the boys!

I thought the first half was very lacklustre as the players seemed to lack any charisma to attack the contest. We almost seemed surprised that Leicester was attacking the game rather than sitting back and putting numbers behind the ball. Structurally they were very well-organised in defence and they had some good opportunities in the match but our class is what allowed us to prevail in the end.

The second half was a major improvement for the side as we came out with more confidence and we were attempting to create more opportunities at goal. After Costa scored in the 63rd minute you sensed that Leicester lost confidence after a solid performance before that and Eden Hazard's second goal was the icing on the cake. We could have actually scored more in the second half so credit to Kasper Schmeichel for playing a good game for Leicester City in goals.

In regards to our players, Ivanovic and Courtois were the definite standouts. Ivanovic was everywhere in this match with great defensive work and I loved the way he wasn't afraid to go up in attack and create good opportunities at goal. Courtois was absolutely outstanding in goals with some great saves with the most notable one being his save against David Nugent one-on-one which could have been massive in the context of the game had Nugent scored. I also loved Courtois' ability to move the ball out quickly from goals rather than being too slow to react when we could easily counter-attack the opposition.

Most of our players were poor in the first half but good to see an improvement from all of them in the second half. Jose's team talk must have worked as they looked much more confident and intent on scoring in the game. I can't see too many changes next week for the Everton game. I do wonder whether Luis will get some game time next week and I'm a big believer that Willian should start ahead of Oscar next week even though Oscar was pretty decent in this game as well.

Great to see Didier Drogba back as well. I absolutely love the man and while I was skeptical of his return initially I think he's going to be great for us this season in terms of what he can offer in front of goal as back-up to Diego Costa and his leadership ability and presence around the club is first class. Great to have him back and what a fantastic standing ovation by the Stamford Bridge crowd yesterday.

Overall a really good day and an important three points to keep our 100% record going this season. Bring on Everton!

I thought that all the midfielders were guilty of giving the ball away cheaply yesterday but Matic playing the role he does can't afford to give it away so cheaply especially in such dangerous areas and we were lucky that Courtois played a blinder and that David Nugent is useless in the Premier League and the Championship is his level.

We got lucky to an extent yesterday but these were the sort of games we were frequently dropping points in last season and so I'm happy to ride our luck early in the season but I think we need to start games a lot more convincingly in future because we won't often win games late on especially if we are leaving ourselves so open at the back.

Nice to see we are off to a great start...Being top where we belong...I personlly pray we take the prem this year above all other trophys.....Once this lot have completely gelled i cant see anyone beating us......Fans have been worthy of praise too thus far..Lots of noise......cant wait to gauge our lot against the likes of pool city n le arse...Glad to see Roman so excitable..he still has the Blue passion.......Roll on spuds

Since drogba started pre-season with us he's been getting more playing time than the useless one...I think this is Jose's ploy to piss Torres off so he will accept a drop in wages to go elsewhere...I suspect Torres though is prepared to get treated like sh*t and keep picking up his wages - because it simply makes no sense for him to still be there from his point of view..he really is a waste if space, but it's Romans fault for buying a busted flush three years ago

Yeah good point, compare Matic's performance to Ivanovic's, who seems to enjoy contributing to the attack more and more as his career progresses, he was at the heart of most of our counters in the last 15 minutes, it was ridiculous. Some of his play yesterday made Dani Alves look like a prudish conservative.

Can we keep the boring Anti-Torres comments to the thread that already exists, then the rest if us can avoid them. Thank you.

I think that was the happiest I have seen Roman, ever, when Drogba came onto the field.

He really must have a good relationship with some of the lads.

Yes. But it is essential to our attacking game he takes risks by trying to attack in tight spaces, something that makes Mikel make those infamous sideway/backway passes. Especially in these games against lower opposition.
