Na, it definitely doesn't like the blue and the gold - which is a pity, because I do (she snarled through gritted teeth!)

Maybe time to update your browser?

I'm not sure how long that default skin will be an option.

Uh, I was using IE6, now I have upgraded (if you can call it that) to IE8.

:) you need to upgrade to Firefox or Chrome mate, IE8 is shockingly bad and slow.

 
Isn't it IE9 these days anyway? I thought IE9 wasn't actually meant to be too bad.

 
IE9 is apparently quite good, but I have ignored it for now because IE8 was appalling. I think I might have to change to Firefox for this forum as Chrome is having all kinds of problems. Double quotes, smileys not showing up, not accepting links to pictures etc...

Unless your doing all this to me on purpose of course.....damn you....

 
Let me know if I am wrong, but when I read information on Microsoft's web page as well as other web pages, I cannot use IE9 if I have Windows XP OS.

Thus, I could only download the highest verion of IE that was compatible to my OS.

 
Phil, have a look at Firefox, you can install it seperately, so you can run it alongside IE.

Dkw; did you delete cache and cookies yet? I will give Chrome a blast later here and see what happens.

 
OK, I will give that a try. Was the chat room working today? For some reason, I could not get in, and when I clicked on "Chat", it keeps showing "Searching", even now.

I tihnk Ive found my Chrome problem, it seems Java script isnt enabled, though the settings says it is. Any site I go on that needs Javascript (not Java, different thing apparently...) goes tits up. Firefox here I come....

 
That will be it mate, this newer way the site works relies on it.

Might be worth looking at the java actually on your computer. I had the problem a few years ago on another computer, and it wasn't the browser but actually java on the computer going wrong so couldn't view sites with it for a little while.

You say its enabled in Chrome, but still not working so its probably within the computer.

Javascript is handled by the browser and it's totally independent from Java.

@dkw: maybe there are exceptions in the Chrome settings? Or a NoScript-like addon?

 
Theres exceptions but I have no idea what it means by "hostname Pattern". Java on my Laptop is ok as it runs in IE and Firefox, think its a Chrome thing.

I've just this minute upgraded to Firefox 6. I haven't had time to test it thoroughly yet, but I can tell you that it looks and feels very much the same as Firefox 5. Login details still aren't saved for the Sign In popup but that could be down to my setup.It's not a major problem anyway, as explained earlier in this thread.

Most importantly, the site itself seems to be working fine.

 
Having a bit of a problem with the themes. On my phone I select the mobile theme to view, it them remembers it when I log on via my PC and vice versa. The mobile theme isn't great when working on a PC and non mobile takes forever to load up on a mobile. Any idea how I can stop them from remembering what theme my profile used last?

 
Couldn't you just change your theme before you log out? I've never used a phone to log on to the site, but with the PC version it's a doddle to change the theme.

 
Can't seem to add a link. When I clicked on the "Link" tab in the Quick Reply window at the foot of a page, the window went grey but nothing popped up. Had to refresh the page.

I'm using Chrome BTW.

And no, I'm not going to change to IE.
