No one is suggestion a fifa type spending spree.

We are a big club that spends big money, we spent £200m last season, i dont see why it would be any different this season.

Agree with this.

Personally would sell Willian and try bring in another world class winger like Ousmane Dembele perhaps. He has potential to be incredible, but is somewhat injury prone.

If we could get this sorted as our attacking/striker options and sort out the defence, then we have a great side

That is great and all but again with poor work ethic, passing and first touch what use is it if he keeps losing the ball with such flaws?

Also kicked up a fuss before selling Essien - seems to be their way of saying we want more money.

 
Should grab Depay instead. Those who want Werner because of his versatility across the front would be happy with Depay in that regard. Stylistically different for the most part, otherwise, but Depay can play on the wing or central.

I read that Depay is injured,and that's probably why they want to keep Dembele.

It's a squad game these days, more than it ever has been.

Regarding Hudson Odoi and Pulisic, I have big hopes for both long term but right now both are nowhere near ready to be week in week out starters, this way they can develop at their own pace and break through once they fill out a bit more.

 
There is this talk about how the club offered 40m and got rejected.

In seriousness, I always thought Depay could be one of those players, like Salah, who struggled to make an impact in England the first go round, only to come back and have success.

Dembele looks like a decent player though and he's about what I would expect the club to bring in January, talent wise.

 
I think we can assume this is who we will probably sign for the striker role.  That Lyon statement is not to be taken at face value tbh, they have history

I know many people are complaining about this deal simply because he is not Timo Werner, and yes we'd all prefer Werner, but with no release clause a deal this month just wont happen.  We need to accept that

Sorry to burst the bubble! I must confess I watched Lyon a lot last season but haven't so much this year. He may have improved!

I can wait until next season for a Sancho--Tammy--Werner attacking lineup. I just don't want us to buy a 40mil mediocre striker (benchwarmer for Tammy) and ruin that from happening.

Dembele is awful at holding the ball though, if people think Batshuayi is frustrating with the ball he is way worse. 

There are other options that can be bought in this window at a reasonable price, signing him just comes across as lazy. Piatek is available with Zlatan now at Milan, Mitrovic,  even in the premiership at that rumoured price Jiménez will be available.

Jimenez signed for £30m last summer, he would cost way more now. Wolves dont need to sell. 

 
Mitrovic will be a hard ask too. Fulham are fighting to be in the playoffs. So price would probably be close to Zaha levels.
