Moussa Dembele

That statement just screams of "id like to keep him but chuck me more money and who knows?"

Would prefer we look elsewhere has a whiff of another Batshuayi about him.

Dembele is awful at holding the ball though, if people think Batshuayi is frustrating with the ball he is way worse.

There are other options that can be bought in this window at a reasonable price, signing him just comes across as lazy. Piatek is available with Zlatan now at Milan, Mitrovic,  even in the premiership at that rumoured price Jiménez will be available.
Raul Jiménez is a great player, sadly I didn't hear anything about our club being interested in him.

If its a stop gap to support Tammy but could come good, i would go for Pukki from Norwich as back up with maybe offering Bats to them on loan as part of the deal.

Never saw the man play live but even his youtube highlights left me unimpressed.

For me this is the lazy option. I remember him at Fulham and he was hit and miss then. We were allegedly interetsed in him then as were Spurs, presumably because of their other Dembele.

In his time at Celtic he did well, but he would wouldn't he. Anybody above League 1 will rule scottish football if you go to Celtic or Rangers.

I also don't rate the french league either so i am also not convinced he could cut it here in the EPL. What does he offer that Bats doesn't

Yup, reminds me of Jelavic. Isn’t he rated as one of the greatest strikers to have played in the league?

Jimmy Floyd likes this transfer option, reports suggest the player himself wants to come.

Lots of news about this in the papers, agreed personal terms etc. his goal scoring record is good.

Chelsea are ahead of Manchester United in a pursuit for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele after personal terms were agreed, according to transfer expert Ian McGarry.

However, McGarry says there have been talks between Chelsea and Dembele and a contract has been agreed.

McGarry said on the Transfer Window Podcast: “My information is that Chelsea have fairly agreed [a] contract, verbally that is, with Dembele and his representatives in terms of the player’s wages, bonuses etc, etc and that it remains for the club to agree the fee, fee structure and/or any add ons etc with Jean Michel-Aulas of Lyon.

His goal scoring record is okay, nothing outstanding though. His first year in Scotland was good, but it's a really poor league where average players like Scott Sinclair can end up being one of the best players in the league. His second season was mediocre though, he only scored 9 league goals. His goalscoring for Lyon last season was okay, but again, nothing spectacular and this season he is on course to score a similar number of goals.

His overall game may be better suited to us than Batshuayi's game is, but I'm not convinced he will be anything special based on what I have seen of him.

He's only 23 though, there has to be some potential that hasn't been explored yet.

I view him as a nearly perfect January signing, similar as with Aké.

I googled his goal-scoring record, which means I am now qualified to offer my expert opinion on here, and I think he would be an ok signing. One thing I am certain of is we desperately need to sign a viable alternative to Abraham up front, and Dembele ticks that box.

Lyon still don't want to sell. I doubt we gonna get anyone this window. If we do it will probably end up another panic buy or two.

Caught one rumour from the BBC gossip page that Spurs are also showing interest following latest injury news on Kane.

"I’m surprised to see his name pop up so regularly when it’s not popping up in my conversations."

...Said Frankie Lampard.

So if nothing is true, there is no other option but to sound the 48 hour alarms daily!
