Our diabolical directors..

I don't believe that for even a second.

Why would he even be in photos like this if that was the case ?

You can choose to believe it or not.

I'm going to go off of what the Telegraph is actually reporting regarding their roles, rather than just guessing what each one does, as we have done during Clearlake's ownership.

I wonder, despite what is being reported, if Stewart leaving was brought about by the Lamine camara situation, on top of the other failings mentioned.

Has been said Manu Kone was our main target for our Enzo replacement and a deal was very much in the works, but we switched to Camara instead. Stewart has the Monaco connections, is responsible for both Disasi and Badiashile coming here, it is very much believable he pushed for Camara, only for them to screw us over.

Cannot be argued it has made Alonsos job much more difficult, and if Alonso is as highly thought of by Eghbali as suggested it could well be neither the manager not owner have been left too happy with Stewart.

We haven't had to guess though ... BlueCo have issued loads of PR about what they are all supposed to be doing ...

e.g. this from when Winstanley joined :

In Black and White : "appointed to the role of Director of Global Talent and Transfers".

And also :

Again in B&W : "Winstanley ... oversaw Chelsea's January transfer strategy alongside the board"

Do we brush the last 4 years under the carpet simply because Matt law has written his latest BlueCo puff piece ?

I'm glad Stewart has gone, but can't really celebrate while we still have the likes of Winstanley and Shields in situ, and now with even more responsibilities !

I would assume that announcement was when both Winstanley and Stewart oversaw everything and were the only directors at the time. Sam Jewell and Joe Shields coming on board changed everything.

That was a made-up clarification that they ran after Fallows started to take a bigger role, and the structure was getting heavily criticised post-Rosenior. It is unlikely to be based in reality as there has simply been no evidence that any of them had clearly defined roles, let alone responsibilities.

Arguing vibes isn't the same as a published source. Especially when it's a source that first revealed the Finkelstein buffoonery.
Ah yes, British Newspapers have never misreported and our owners definitely don't tell the media what to write to cover their own blushes.

The same British paper that deliberately painted a board member in a terrible light, which directly fueled the protests.

Yeah, none of these have ever published anything knowingly malicious about a football club....come the f**k on.

Not buying it.

Matt Law, who has substantial access to BlueCo’s inner workings, reports the current director structure, and the rebuttal on here is essentially speculation that the Telegraph only publishes what BlueCo wants them to.

Except Matt Law/ the Telegraph were the first to reveal the Finkelstein situation, a disclosure BlueCo clearly didn’t want made public and one that directly led to fan protests at both Chelsea/Strasbourg. Simply contradicts the idea that they’re just a mouthpiece.

Matt Law has 'substantial access' because the owners brief him on what to write. Its pretty obvious with all the briefings we see online.

So then why did Matt Law expose the Finkelstein conversation, which BlueCo clearly didn't want disclosed? This genuinely led to the protests.

That's what doesn't make sense.

Both can be true at the same time.

Journalists are the lowest of the low, they'd sell their own mother out for a headline. If BluieCo give them news they'll run with it like a cat with the cream. If someone else gives them dirt on BlueCo, they'll publish it without thinking twice.

1. Scousers.
2. Journalists.
3. MP's

In that order.

Number 1 should always be ... Tottenham!!

I read it off some guy from the internet:
Good point. Garnacho’s signing was always narrated as a push from Winstanley.

It's basic media literacy. The Telegraph article you reference was a "clarification" by Matt Law, published in May shortly before the FA Cup final and confirmed that Alonso was the front-runner for getting the job. At that point the NotAProject group were at that point threatening to protest the final itself.

Law included an explainer piece with no relevance to the actual news and was posted on social media with the phrase "Chelsea believe there is a misunderstanding...". It was clearly a briefing from the club in response to fan protest, it makes no sense that the Telegraph sat on this information and apparently saw no need to publish it until 15 May.

Also, the article itself says:
Contrary to popular opinion, Winstanley is not responsible for the identification of transfer targets. His work centres more around the delivery of targets, through talking to and negotiating with clubs and agents. He is also heavily involved in player sales and the renewal of contracts.

Where in any of this did you prove that Matt Law's article on their roles was "fabricated"? You’re waving around conclusions without bothering to connect them to evidence. Did you not stop to consider that the protests directly led the ownership to be more transparent and provide more clarification on what our 300 directors actually do? There were club-to-club protests long before the FA Cup match.

I don’t know what you think that Winstanley quote accomplishes. My entire point was that the article provided clarification that Stewart/Jewell were the snakes.
