just seen this flash up on BBC sport, where did this come from? and Godin? centre back? what about Luiz? Aguero though ::ChElSeaFLag:: Apparently its been rejected

Jesus christ, £52 mill for both apparently. Is this for real? Now that is a statement of intent if true.

Some gomer on another forum I use claimed we had bid £52 million for Aguero.

I thought Aguero's release clause was £38m on his new contract?

Isnt Aguero`s buyout £42m? So does that mean £10m for Godin?

Well, if the bid is equal to or bigger than the release clause, how can the club turn it down? I thought in these cases only the player's desire to stay can prevent the sale from happening.

It does seem odd if were in for Luiz, that means we would be aiming to have 5 top class centre backs :shok:

Apparently the bid was turned down last week, and rumours are we have went back with a new bid but there has been no response from Madrid as of yet.

Don't believe a word of it. They are to trying to create a bidding war and want Man City alerted to it. Fack 'em, greedy sods !!

I heard from a good source we did offer £40 million for Aguero in the summer but they wanted £45 million so we walked away we might have gone back with an improved offer

This is really out of the blue. I just saw by accident "Chelsea fail in £52million bid" at the top ofthe BBC page, I was completely baffled. Considering David Luiz *seems* to be on the verge, the Godin part was the most confusing, but the figure is most definitely, like dkw said, a statement of intent. Sign Luiz in the coming 24 hours, and then have a massive 5 day attempt to finally get Aguero on deadline day. That'd do me nicely.

don't understand how this could be true in the slightest if were prepared to spend 52m we should just sign aguero for his buy out clause.

Well this really did come out of nowhere, but if true as the BBC has said its surely a sign that Abramovich has not lost interest then has he?

Just focus on young Sergio...!

Get them or not - it sure sticks 2 fingers up to those who say Roman has lost interested.
