(plus the QPR f*ck wit who made a complaint to the Old Bill )
I thought it was a journalist who made the complaint.

Any one with two brain cells or more must agree with your post TB, personally I reckon it's time for JT to turn his back on England and concentrate on trying to get another couple of seasons at the Bridge.

I don't believe there was one, I think most of the witch hunting began before the final whistle had even blown in that game. In fact, I would go so far to say it wouldn't surprise me if this was all orchestrated before they even kicked off!
How could it be "orchestrated before they even kicked off"... He hadn't said anything then....

Okay my controversial post of the year ..........

I don't think the FA had any choice but to do what they did and I am surprised it took them this long . It does look like they were hoping for this to be all cleared up before the Euros but the great UK Judicial system f*cked that all up so the UK justice system deserve more blame than anyone (plus the QPR f*ck wit who made a complaint to the Old Bill )

Given the nature of the allegations and the PC climate we live in today they didn't have a choice . I don't doubt he will be found innocent but whilst he is under a charge it won't go away. They can't beat the Let's kick racism out drum and not be seen to do anything . To be fair the most telling thing is he has not been charged or given any bans a la Sureaz so they must feel he is innocent (ish).

If you worked in a bank and an employee was being investigated for fraud and theft would you still let him come into work ? or ask him to stay at home until it was all resolved ?
Fair enough points, and credit to you for having the guts to say it TBB. I think my only counterpoint to that would be the FA should have made a statement that JT was dropped from the squad, entirely, until the matter was resolved. The loss of the captaincy, again, just seems like a half step. Like telling that bank employee that he is demoted for these allegations, but can still come in and do his regular 9 to 5.

It just doesnt seem like they are standing on principle, but that they are trying to satisfy the mob to ensure they can still keep JT's skill in the squad without the press going apey.

I don't really think that's a very apt analogy, is it? They're not asking JT to stay away from work, they're just telling him he can't be captain. They should either be consistent and announce that he will no longer be picked for England and will therefore not be captain, or they should leave things as they were. So I tend to agree with Shelley - if they're taking away the captaincy they should drop him from the team.

Remember he didn't say anything anyway? Anton apparently complained he was racially abused and Terry said 'he didn't say that'! All during the game.

I don't think he won't get picked for the Euros on current form anyway. I think JT should announce his retirement from International football.

If we have any legal geniusi (???) amongst us, I'd like an answer to this.

Seeing as their are always reporting restrictions on any case before it goes to court, are all the reports on this not breaking those restrictions?

Also could JT's Solicitor not claim now that their is no chance of a fair hearing due to the decision of the FA to demote him and claims of a dressing room split?

any assistance greatly appreiciated.

Good question. But I think the answer has already been posted, which is that, as this isn't a jury but a magistrate trial, there isn't any danger of his hearing being prejudiced, as magistrates are above being influenced by a witch-hunting media and the deranged columnists (Patrick Collins, Simon Barnes, Matthew Syed etc. you know who you are) who take every opportunity to defame our captain.

For the FA, this was a public relations issue. In that light, they probably didn't think they had a choice.

Makes them look like weaklings drifitng in the wind of public opinion, though.

If it's true that black players were campaigning against Terry, that's really unfortunate. They have exactly the same amount of information as we do. Clearly not enough to render a judgment. So in my book, irresponsible by those players, if they exist.

I'm with you on that. As a Chelsea fan I have never been much of an England football fan. It started with me when as a lad I was aggrieved at the lack of caps Kerry got. If he'd played for Arsenal or Spurs he'd have had 10x the caps.

And ever since we have had a disproportionate number of players who have been booed and slagged off by the Wembley crowd.

But like blizeH said, most of those England fans are morons. Lunatics who support unsuccessful provincial town clubs and take it out on the big club's players.

And if you ever needed proof that people who go to watch England are retarded it can be had in the fact that they usually pay out to watch a second string England team draw 0-0 with Outer Mongolia on a wet Wednesday night. And that they are prepared to do that to whilst listening to a bunch of pricks play the theme tune to the Great Escape none stop for two hours!

I can't believe that no one has ever pointed out to them that the time to sing the Great Escape tune is when you come back from 3-0 down in the last ten minutes. Not when you have strolled disinterestedly to a 2-0 win over the Falkland Island's ladies 2nd eleven.

bo**ocks to our national football team!
Snedger I agree wholeheartedly with this assessment. Dixon got 8 caps scoring 4 times and never got a game after that. As for the outer mongolia comment, lmao, so true.

f**k England, Chelsea only from now on. I will only support the Chelsea players in the team now on. Love Chelsea. Hate England.

Thanks for that.

The article by Simon Barnes in the Times today was nothing short of a disgrace, if I were JTs' solicitor I'd be looking at that very closely!

I haven't had the pleasure of reading it, but he's always been one of my least favourite writers, so to hear he's written another disgraceful article is hardly a shock. Can anyone who subscribes to the Times do a cut and paste job?

I remember Matthew Norman in the Telegraph writing a nasty piece a couple of months ago in which he made reference to the fabricated Ledley King allegations (made up on a Spurs forum and never ever substantiated in any shape or form), in order to paint JT in a particularly bad light ("He has form for this kind of thing" - not a real quote). I'd have thought some of the press have been guilty of overstepping the mark in their coverage, which is so overwhelmingly hostile it's embarrassing. I'd love to see them get called to account, but I doubt JT could face taking them on.

McCarra in the Guardian:

it is most peculiar that the FA have felt Terry should be subject to some sort of summary punishment, with no apparent right of appeal. When the defender comes before the civil courts he will enter the dock as a man already found guilty in the football world. Terry has no obvious way either to appeal against the removal of the England captaincy. The FA board will doubtless convince themselves that they have acted decisively to resolve an issue that would otherwise have lingered over Euro 2012.

Completely agree - I wouldn't have been so objectional to today's decision - if they'd said he wasn't going full stop - not that he wasn't going as captain.

They could either play the innocent until proven guilty card, or remove him from the team that he is supposedly going to be disrupting. The FA have done neither - instead looking like they are playing up to the media.

[email protected] that's where to send any complaints you have about any 'alleged' contempt breaches.

I don't pretend to know muv about this but I wrote in. All the papers are reporting and allowing comments on their stories, joey baton is playing it close to the knuckle on twitter and either way it felt good to vent somewhere

John Terry: "Rumoured" to have slept with the ex-girlfriend of an ex-teammate: Months of front page headlines, vile reports, calls from "pundits", ex-players, current players and members of the FA to strip him of the captaincy. = Stripped of captaincy.

John Terry: "Accused" of making a racially aggravated comment: Months of front page headlines, vile reports, calls from all sections to either strip him of the England captaincy, strip im of the Chelsea captaincy, sack him, ban him from football for life, jail him or jail him for life = Stripped of captaincy.

Lee Hughes: Kills an innocent person in a drink driving crash, flees the scene, sent to prison: Small amount of media attention. Signed straight up by another club on his release from prison. Then goes on to sexually assault a woman: tiny amount of media coverage.

Yes, this makes sense to me.

Des Kelly in the Mail reporting that several England players don't want Terry in the team anyway....well let them stand up and be counted.....of course they won't because they don't have the balls. The only players and ex players inciting hatred right now are those from the black community with their inuendos, stirring everyone up and influencing the media.....shut the f**k up and let justice have its day...then make your comments and if he is cleared the only thing you will hear is the dull roar of ....silence.

I'd prefer it if JT retired from International football, this captaincy thing has been going on for over 2 years now if you include the Wayne Bridge thing.

Just concentrate on Chelsea JT!

Tall Poppy Syndrome no wonder this small minded country & its old school tie FA wins absolutely nothing in world football every 2 years

The only players I have heard of making their opinion known are

Anton Ferdinand.....who apparently doesnt know anything or have an opinion beyond what QPR tell him to say.

Rio Ferdinand......who is doing the exact same intimation thing you mention

and Jason Roberts........who played for Grenada
