mac. I'm simply throwing some options out there, I would hate to see A Cole sold, for the reason you state plus he's a dam good left back, not so convinced about Mikel however.I believe we will only buy squad players, and simply plough on until the new manager demands cash for new "top notch" players, which is something he will not be in the position to do now.
Yeah i know what you are saying and it concerns me. The players that need replacing are players that are either getting too old or are too average, and if we are going to replace them with 'squad players' then there isnt really any point and we might as well all lower our expecations of challenging at the very top for the next few years!

If we dont step up this Summer, Utd are in danger of leaving all of us behind for the foreseeable future.

Why u think this bold??Grafite he's 30, Dzeko 23, Grafite score 26 goals, but 8 from penalty shot, Dzeko score 25 without any penalty, and Dzeko have 10 assist...

Dzeko is top scorer of WC qualifications, 7 goals...

Sorry for my english

Bye :)
Yes, Grafite is older. That doesn't mean he isn't better. Grafite can create a lot more than Dzeko can, is more athletic and well rounded.

Oh, and as for the strike rate...

Dzeko has 25 goals in 31 games. Grafite has 26 goals in 24 games. Huge difference there.

Also, the WC qualification stats for Dzeko means nothing to me. Look at who he's scored them against:

2 versus Estonia

1 versus Turkey

1 versus Armenia

3 versus Belgium

Not exactly world beaters there. And your English is fine, no worries.

Ok, but Grafite score 8 goals from penalty, and if u "delete" goals from penalty, there are on the same :shhh:

Villa and Torres played against same teams for Spain, and they didn't score more goals, but i know, that doesn't mean mach..

I just believe in that guy, he is very good pearson, and he have team spirit. Dzeko definetly have a knowledge and he enjoying in football :D

My opinion is... he can help Chelsea in the future, if he arrive of corse.

Bye :)

Yeah, that's what I got from that interview. I doubt he'll enjoy his time here if he comes as he wants to play in Italy.

Well you can't just take away penalties...the fact that Grafite is trusted with the PK duties is indicative of his ability. He still had to convert them, y'know. Otherwise, we'll have to agree to disagree.

No, Pizarro had plenty of chances and if anything every time he was on the pitch he looked out of his element. Some players can adjust to PL and thrive here, others like Sheva or Pizarro are incapable of it. All that stuff about not getting enough chances is just a convenient excuse. Based on what he showed on the pitch he didn't deserve any more time or chances and considering his age waiting for him to turn things around was never a sensible option.Dzeko is a proven goalscorer and he can score a lot in Prem I have no doubts about it. - Why? Because he scored a lot in Bundesliga? Why don't we just bring Pizarro back, he is ours and won't cost a penny and he scored only a few less in the same tournament against the same opposition.
I honestly don't think he had but I don't want to get in to that. He never fit our team so it was better for him to go. My point is if we had played different formation he has the skills to score and he would probably have scored. It wasn't the right time or the place for him.

Dzeko is a proven goal scorer: 25 goals in Bundesliga and 8 in WC qualifiers. If you didn't know they give you the same amount of goals in England as in Germany for putting the ball in the net and even the goals are the same size :D.

Given the proper support the guy can and will score in England as well. I think he could be great here paired up with Anelka. Grafite also needed him to score that many goals. He is still young and is getting better all the time. I would take the risk of buying him although I don't see it as a big risk.

Formation had nothing to do with the fact that Pizarro lacks speed and mobility needed to ply your trade successfully as a striker in England. He's not a bad player, far from it, in fact I rated him highly when he was playing for Bayern but it just proves once more that success in one country doesn't necessarily mean you'll do well in another.

Once again, Dzeko is a proven goalscorer in Germany. His stats mean nothing in England. He may come here and blow everyone away or turn out to be a bust, you never know. As for counting goals the same in PL and Bundesliga that's where you're wrong, my friend: scoring in arguably the most competitive and strongest league in the world isn't the same as scoring them in Germany, not even close. Following your logic, the likes of Grafite,Dzeko, Mario Gomes and Patrik Helmes are better scorers than PL's top finishers Anelka and Ronaldo because they all scored more than them in their domestic competition.

Watchin Dzeko in the last half of Wolfsburg final game, I am really impressed. He is fast, strong in the air, and smart in front of goal. A few examples

-Grafite scored Wolfsburgs fourth with a header at the back post but Dzeko was directly behind him and had also beat his man in the air

-Able to create space for himself on the edge of the box by juking a static defender, and then loads up for a heavy shot with very little backswing

-Runs to the endline and gets closed off at the corner of the box by a defender, but keeps his head up and finds an open teammate on the edge of the box for a shot

-His first goal, Wolfsburg's fifth, featured him leaping out from behind a defender to put a slight touch on a cross, and he placed it perfectly.

I dont know much out of this game, but he looks like a great player. I worry a bit about the fact that its the Bundesliga, too

Also, he and Grafite surpassed Hoeness and Muller as the most prolific German partnership in history

Robben proved himself in the Dutch league before joining Chelsea. Does that mean we shouldn't have bough him because it's Dutch and not English league? I understand the point that the Premiership is the strongest league in the world, but arguing here that the guy deserves no credit until he comes to England is rubish.

Saw Wolfsburg - Bremen aswell and i have to say that Grafite and Dzeko was fantastic. Grafite is unfortunalty 30 years old so i guess its to late for him to move to a much bigger club but Dzeko will surely be snapped up by some big club in the summer.

Diego was also very good for Werder Bremen. Scored a fantastic goal aswell, and its a shame that he is going to Juventus.

I don't think thats the argument...the argument is that you can't say he will be great because he is great at that league. It is still a gamble.

Any transfer is a gamble no matter where you sign a player from

Yes, even signing a player from another English team is a gamble. The scouts obviously know what to look at, so we just have to trust them to do a good job.
