I haven't written anything here for months...But, when there is a rumor of my countrymen (Dzeko and Misimovic) going to CFC I have to give my thought on the subject.

Though my pick is more of sentimental reasons, I still feel we could use a player like him. In my opinion, he is a combination of Drogba/Inzaghi/Adebayour. He is quite fast and strong in the box, yet he always seems to be in the right moment at the right time (hence, Pipo comparison).

Don't be fooled with all Bundesliga-EPL comparison and that Bundesliga is of "lower quality". That doesn't change the fact that Dzeko is a top striker. He scores when given the opportunity. He doesn't waste chances and he is a master in finding space. One thing stands, though, is that Dzeko must operate with a quality midfielder who can supply him with balls (which Misimovic is) and it also helps to have another striker who can divert defenders and make more space for Dzeko.

So...the bottom line is: Here is a chance to have somebody who is extremely reliable in front of goal! And, although he is tall he is very skillful and strong which makes him perfect for EPL!!!

I was dreaming of having a Bosnian in CFC for years...I hope my wish comes true!!

Chelsea after Aguero and Dzeko

Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero, who is Maradona's son-in- law, has been outstanding in La Liga. He is a target for a string of top clubs in Europe and would cost around £50million.

But the Blues' scouts are also tracking Bosnian hitman Edin Dzeko. He scored again yesterday as Wolfsburg hammered Werder Bremen 5-1 to clinch their first German title. Dzeko is rated at around £25m.

I would be very content indeed if we ended up with those two. although i would feel a bit for Franco, assuming both Didier and Nico also stay.

Jury's still out on Di Santo, but he needs a proper chance to show what he could do and with two new strikers i think that he would be very unlikely to get that game time. Loan move, as much as they can annoy me, would make the most sense.

 
It makes sense that he's rated that high, but I was hoping to snag Dzeko for between 10-15 when I first heard of him.

Well, even though I've been tracking him for years it is only in the last 6-ish months that he made his mark in both club and international football (don't forget that Dzeko is leading scorer in Europe for South Africa). He would've been worth 6 months ago even less than 10 mil, but now his price went up by million with each goal he scored! :D

The thing is, it was another Bosnian, Ibisevic, who stole all the headlines in the first part of the season with 18 goals in 17 matches!

I am still keeping my hopes high that we will sign him no matter who stays or goes!

 
Dzeko does look like a decent player, good in the air, and his stats this season more than back him up. But I can't help but feel we might just have another Claudio Pizarro on our hands, he did well both prior to us buying him and had a good season this year in Germany after we loaned him out. So I dont really think Chelsea should be willing to pay such a high price tag for a player that we don't know if he can perform to Premiership standard, i don't want another striking flop!

 
There are no guarantees in football. You never know if one of these players will perform well at Chelsea. There's always a risk involved. I'm not sure if Dzeko is the player we should buy, but if we take the attitude that we shouldn't buy players from leagues that we've bought flops from, then we wouldn't have many options left.

 
I'm not saying we shouldn't buy anyone from Germany but i don't think we should be spending 25 million on a player who has just come on to the scene in the last year. There would be far less risk in buying a player such as ribery, albeit for an extra 15 million

 
Apparently today on bosnian national television they confirmed that Dzeko is going to announce name of his new club tomorrow.

He won the Bundesliga Player of the Year too.

 
On his own website he's pretty vocal about wanting to play in Italy with either AC Milan or Juventus even though he also says his agent has spoken to us.

 
Sun reports the Real have sealed Kaka deal. Will they allow Pato to leave if Kaka is gone? Maybe if they get Dzeko...and I would love to see that happen. If you gave me a choice between Pato and Kaka, I'd take the younger one.

According to edindzeko.com, he is going to announce something about his future at a press conference in Bosnia at 12:00 today.

 
The press conference just finished and there is nothing new to report. He took the opportunity to dismiss rumors that he has already signed for Chelsea or AC Milan. Basically, he said that there will be a definite decision in about 10 days and that he is "in talks with his current club Wolfsburs and many other big European clubs".

So, there you go...we just have to wait and see! I am still keeping my hopes high!!! :D
