Not that alone, just look at peak Bayern with Neuer, Barca with Valdes and now City with Eduardo, a sweeper GK will win you games. In the PL where teams sit deep against the top sides, your GK starting off your attack quickly will ensure you catch the opposition on the break before they can reorganise.

Did I hear a commentator compare Maquire to Bobby Moore in the quarter final. Maybe I picked it up wrong and didn’t bother rewinding after I got back up off the floor.

I would be surprised as well.  Maybe with Milan’s interest in Morata, we work out some sort of deal for Donnarumma?

If we want him (and more importantly if Sarri wants him) I have no doubt we'd get him.

That being said, is he the best man for the job?

There be someone somewhere. If we can't get the best it's up to our scouts to find whoever's borderline and not far off hitting that level, funnily enough like what Roma did with Alisson in the first place.

Amazing video. Apparently he relies on his timing and positioning to make close-range saves, and he stretches his body to make long-range saves. Who knew?

I agree with this. There will be great up and coming keepers out there. It's our job to find one who can really hit the heights. Trouble is, if Courtois leaves, we'll be downgrading in this position next season, whatever happens. If it's a young keeper we put our faith in, we'll need to be patient, as Utd were with De Gea.
