O QUOTED POST DELETED BY LOZChelsea Chelsea Chelsea
Thanks for that :D I'm pretty sure I heard different versions of that one though.

Here's another one, came into my head this morning and is driving me mad: - the second line was "We ain't lost a fight since we don't know when", and finishes with "We are the Chelsea boot boys", followed by a manic leaping up and down while 'la-la'ing' the song again, and again finishing with "We are the Chelsea boot boys".

Goes to the tune of: -

"We hate Tottenham, and we hate Tottenham,

We hate Tottenham, and we hate Tottenham,

We hate Tottenham, and we hate Tottenham,

We are the Tottenham haters"

I've said it before, but it's true - they don't write 'em like that anymore :D

sing a song of sixpence

a pocket full of rye

Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie

And when the the pie was opened the birds began to sing

We hate Tottenham, and we hate Tottenham,

We are the Tottenham haters

With a bow legged chicken and a knock Kneed hen

We ain't lost a fight since I don't know when

We hate Man United and we hate West Ham

We are the Tottenham haters

We hate Tottenhan and we hate Tottenham

We hate Tottenham and we hate Tottenham We hate Tottenham and we hate Tottenham

We are the Tottenham Haters

They asked me how I knew Chivers was a j*w

I of course replied I saw him circumcised right before my eyes

(sung to the tune of smoke gets in your eyes)

They're turning White Heart Lane into a public synagogue

They're turning White Heart Lane into a public synagogue

They're turning White Heart Lane into a public synagogue

And we'll all p*ss up the wall

Glory, Glory Boll*cks to ya

Glory, Glory Boll*cks to ya

Glory, Glort Boll*cks to ya

And we'll all p*ss up the wall

We hate Tottenham

We hate Tottenham

(sung to the tune of Jonn Browns' body lies a moulding in the grave)

That sounds about right, thanks for that Ray!

Have to say, don't recall so many references to Wolverhampton, I mean WOLVES? - who the f**k are (were) they?

Great memories of most of the chants; as for running with the pack & getting involved in rucks - seemed to me like it was almost unavoidable back in the 70's!

Never mind the away games, the riotiing up the Fulham Road after the games with the likes of West Ham were simply the norm; it was a way of life.

Ahh , the good old days.

'Woof woof' ...'not fit to wipe my arse'..'''atchets and 'ammers'....Harry Roberts is our friend' etc.

Bring back the terracing.

here's a few from the mid sixties

Aye,aye, aye, aye Bonetti is better than Yashin

Osgood is better than Eusebio

And Tottenham are in for a thrashing

Hi ho,hi ho to Tottenham we go

with a bottle,a brick and a walking stick hi ho,hi ho

Walking sticks where are you

Walking sticks where are you

After this chant hundreds of walking sticks would be lifted in the air

This was short lived as they were soon banned

Blimey, those chants bring back some memories!

As I recall, most of the walking sticks were either taped up or painted in blue and white stripes. I can remember reading about how they first gained notoriety at WHL in 1967, during the taking of the Park Lane. I'd love to have been old enough to have been involved that day, heard so many stories about it. Unfortunately I was only 10 at the time, and would have been of only limited use in battling with the y*ds that day :D

when i was looking at this the other day i was really surprised no-one had added the "proper" version of the west ham bubbles song. that's the one without the bubbles!!

they fly so high

they reach the sky

but like west ham they fade and die

tottenham always running

arsenal running too

so's the chelsea north stand

running after you

CHELSEA!!

Its still sung. Last heard this boxing day at Birmingham away! Great song though.

anyone know how 'and Leicester' got into the chant?
A few ideas on here - most completely wrong. We've been singing it for as long as I can remember.

Oops - here's the link:

Other theories from around the web:

from what I have researched in books and folklore, it comes from the time chelsea were meant to play leicester away, the hooligans were going to turn up in force, but the game got called off. next few days chelsea reserves played leicester reserves and all the hooligans turned up anyway, and at the next chelsea home game, the over land and sea chant was sung, and those who went to leicester added the "and leicester" bit in to say they went to leicester anyway.
The song relates to a motorway sign on the M1 as you leave London heading north that reads The midlands the North AND leicester.

I sat twice at the shed end and there was some chant but i don't know its words!!

The left side of the shedend chant it and look to either chelsea fans behind the goal or to the visitors fans, and then the blue fans on the right side or behind the goal chant back and so on....

i can't remeber a word

anyone know what would that be :)

wow, I just love this stuff. As I stated in my welcome thread, I was born a chelsea fan in Canada, and until recent years it was impossible to watch the game, so to be honest even though I always said Chelsea when asked about football favourites, it wasnt until I saw my first live Chelsea match in gr 6 (visting relatives in Cheam Surrey in the earlymid 90's) that I fell in love with watching the sport (always loved playing it) and I think the biggest seller, aside from the game in itself, was the atmosphere and chants.

In a way to make up to you guys, for showing me as a 11 yr old, how great English soccer stadium atmospheres are(Im sure a few of you were in those very stands that very day...I wish I could remember who it was against, I'll have to ring up my uncle who took me ), I'd like to show you guys a taste of how we do it over here with hockey! Visually speaking and in terms of noise, its hard to beat my local hockey club The Calgary Flames and thei Sea of Red! Its like this every game, especially the playoffs..check it out

Big up Blues 4 life!

btw all the red is fans wearing the teams Jersey which believe it or not, is considerabley more expensive than football kits.

Edit: Yes and those are real flames shooting out from the score board......it is oil country after all! lol
