We all know the media and bitter fans of other clubs are lying in wait to have a pop...I'm sure we will read crisis talk for a few days now and Jose rumours...it's all bollox...given squad we have, I think we've overachieved this season

And also, we should have played our usual back four, Dave Terry Cahill Ivanovic, this is no time for changes, especially in the defense... the pivot had to be like that, so well, schurlle was injured? I think it was funny that Jose was worried by Filipe Luis but Juanfran killed us...

oh and biggest joke are all the bitter fans of clubs who are enjoying sticking the boot in now...given they saw their teams knocked out months ago or not involved at all, just makes them even more pathetic for doing so
100% this. Our achievements in European competitions since the 2003/04 season are the only reason England have maintained 4 qualifying spots in the Champions League. Without us it would have been reduced to 3 places, and guess which team would have suffered most if that were the case ?...............Woolwich Wanderers of course.

For any Gooners lurking here the simple facts are that your much celebrated 4th place in the Premiership would not have been enough to qualify if WE hadn't raised the co-efficient by doing so well in Europe.

Woolwich Wanderers came 4th in the Premier League in seasons 2005/06, 2006/07, 2008/09, 2010/11, 2012/13. They scrambled into the Champions League those years on the back of our achievements in Europe.

Chelsea in Europe during that time :

2003/04  Champions League Semi Final

2004/05  Champions League Semi Final

2006/07  Champions League Semi Final

2007/08  Champions League Final

2008/09  Champions League Semi Final

2011/12  Champions League Winners

2012/13  Europa League Winners

2013/14 Champions League Semi Final

It's thanks to us, and Evertons late season collapse that the gooners seem set to yet again stumble over the CL qualifying line for next season and once again make an early exit. At least we make a go of it, as we do for every competition we are in.

I'm disappointed with the result last night but the better team on the night won it fair and square. No dodgy decisions, no controversy, no complaints.

Now lets go out and win our last two league games and end the season on a high note.

Oh forgot to mention, as I walked through west Brompton cemetery to the ground before kick off, there were loads of Atletico fans relieving themselves all over the place...absolutely disgusting...police arrived on the scene but disrespect had already been done...all season wanted Atletico to win la Liga, but these arseholes make me want to change my mind

Disappointing but can't really complain. Atletico deserve to go through.

Conceding on half time was very damaging, and the penalty was needless. At that point it was all over.

Onwards and upwards.

Best team won. In the first half I think we played better than them, not by heaps but enough to notice.
After that goal they scored it all went down I think, they came out wanting it more in the second half.

Congrats to AM and unlucky to Chelsea, next season we will hopefully have a stronger side, whether it be new players or the same.

Also let us not forget how good cech is, he is easily one of the best goalkeepers and to toss him out next season would be a bit harsh I think.

I shed tears for a good 10 minutes. Not tears of sadness, but tears of frustration. At home to lose it like that is hard a pill to swallow. I want Costa here. He is a c**t of the highest order and also had 2 sh*t performances against us but he is the type that will die for the team. I like those type of men. I would feel proud and confident to be thrown in a lions den with him.

A man to play for the kit right? Unlike another AM Striker we all know

BTW does anyone have a *.gif of Side Show Bob's Bike Kick attempt?

I think so too. Fantastic year, really. Can't win silverware every season. The arsenal fans sticking the boot in and talking about how Jose has gone two years without winning despite all the money he has had....they really are becoming a despicable lot.

Oater adds and upwards. Jose seems determined to make next season even better. That'll take a lot of doing.

Also, I seen a well know lass that's followed Chelsea all over the place, say that tonight she doesn't trust Jose, and that we lost the midfield.... Just who were our options, or am I missing something there?

First and foremost, congratulations to Atletico and good luck against RM. I expect the final to be a tight affair, but I'm hoping Atletico pull off the win. They are a collective unit, not a bunch of individuals, and it's good to see that unity do so well.

They were the better team for the 90 minutes. I've listen to Jose's interview, and while I don't disagree with most points, he is right in saying that those one minute turnarounds can change the outcome of the game. After going down 1-2, we were chasing the game and just weren't going to get the breakthrough that we needed. That doesn't detract from Atletico's performance at all. They deserve to go through.

I know the season is not quite over, but I want to say that I'm proud of all of our players. Throughout this season, they truly have put their heart and soul into it and it's been an amazing run. To be in the hunt for the Prem and make it to the CL semis with a team that Jose is still clearly molding is a good season. Us fans are always hungry for titles, but this is not a failure of a season and we should be thankful that we get to watch some of the best players in the World play on at least a weekly basis.

And I have to admit, even though I haven't read all 60 pages, that you lot have been commendable in the reactions to the match and our season as a whole. Someone mentioned us being a "class above" other fans and I believe that we do represent a more level-headed and open-minded collective than the fans of some teams. We're emotional, yes, but that just shows our love for this club. Like our squad on the pitch, we also are a collective unit and our support helps drive the lads to be the best they can be. To those at SB tonight, thank you for your support and thank you for acting as the "voice" for those of us that could not be there.

And finally, anyone that slags off JT for showing emotion after this loss (or any really) can kindly f**k off. JT is our leader, and a club legend. Say what you will, but I'm damn proud he's leading our team.

Two more matches left, I'm sure the lads will put it all on the line and close out the season strong.

KTBFFH! Proud to bleed Blue.

For some reason I'm not as gutted as I usually am after a defeat .

I think across the 180 minutes Atletico certainly deserved to go through but there were some key moments today where if we had been more clinical and professional we may have had a chance .

1) Our defense for Athleticos first goal

2) The penalty

3) Courtouis Saves and us hitting the post at 1-2 (if that goes in anything could have happened at 2-2) .

At the end of the day Atletico going through is the fair result . We didn't deserve it to be completely fair .

Really ? I haven't seen any evidence of that at all and as for all that penalty spot b*ll*cks last night that was just pathetic. He's Brazilian by birth and played for Brazil  before defecting to play for Spain. Good luck with him in the lions den because I would call that a turncoat and mercenary.

He also comes across as a moody f*cker and I personally hope he comes nowhere near our club.

disregard my request for an *.gif of Side Show Bob's Bike Kick. I found one

The better side won and they fully deserved it which pains me to say in a Champions League Semi Final! Well done Atletico Madrid and all the best in the Final.

This result is gutting and i'm going to be in a mood certainly today but we did a good job in this seasons competition. I didn't expect us to get as far as we did that's for sure! And to say that this is a 'low moment' when you've just lost out in the last 4 of the greatest club competition in the world speaks volumes about our aims, ambitions and how far we have come. The future is looking good and we'd be a good bet to be in Berlin next season. Onwards.

Can anybody who went to the game confirm whether Torres did in fact only clap the AM fans and not ours when he was subbed?

I know it looked like that on TV but sometimes you obviously don't get the full picture on TV

...Pretty much sums up my feelings!! On wards and Upwards..

Chelsea till i die!

Why pick on Mikel? he was not on the bench,he was not causing any negativity around the team Sunday was he?
:face_palm:   It was a joke dude. I've actually been impressed with Mikel recently.

Yes, a loose canon if ever I saw one. He'd get wound up something rotten in the PL

I have to say, I thought Torres was lucky with his goal as it was the only time he escaped from Godin's pocket over 180 mins & came with an obvious deflection. Otherwise, he was pretty ineffective as per usual.
But at least he did score. Eto'o was even less effective when he came on and in fact his only notable contribution was to give away the penalty which killed the tie.

But we all know it's strikers we need in the summer.
