Estêvão

Very pleased for him today.
I have been very wary of how Alonso has gone about his job so far but he’ll get time from 90% of the fans and rightly so but his management of Estevao has looked strange from the outside looking in.
My take is Alonso has told him what he expects from him defensively and hasn’t played until Estevao was deemed ready to play a specific role.
Hopefully today convinced both the manager and player that this is the way forward.
Estevao could go to Spain, be a star and never defend like Mbappe and Vini but if he wants to play in the EPL he has to develop his game off the ball especially out of possession.
He showed he can do it today
 
Yep was great to see him involved, more so playing with a smile rather than a visible look of frustration at times when things didn't come off which I think was evident previously this season.
 
The lad is class. Does he fit into Alonsos system tho or is he an impact player. If he sees him as an impact player i can see the wee man being away.
 
Needs to be used more and if he maintains his form from the weekend then it’s Palmer who will be looking over his shoulder.

At his age we shouldn’t be playing him every game but he’s been chronically underused so far. I’m hoping his lack of minutes was a mix of coming back from a bad injury and Alonso getting him ready tactically.

If Alonso doesn’t fancy him it alienates a big chunk of the fans but I’m not buying the discontent rumours yet.
 
If he played 3 off the striker he could accommodate him no problem. Neto dropping out. Wee man makes things happen. Imagine an Estevao, Palmer and Rogers 3 behind the front man. But it’s just going to come down to Alonso and the system he wants to play most games. And if Estevao is the one to suffer you can definately see him wanting away. Hope not though as he’s only going to get even better.
