Not just that but there was that story ages ago about Mike Dean being recorded singing YNWA.

Video has of course been taken down. This is what Jose means about Mike Riley allowing this to happen. Two out of the four officials are most likely Liverpool fans.

 
It WAS very frustrating today and Dean certainly played his part with some of his decisions. BUT the real frustration yet again was our performance and our complete inability to deal with teams like Sunderland. 70% possession at one point and over 20 attempts on goal but I really didn't think we looked that dangerous. Too many players not having the balls when it really matters. Midfielders who are great players but lack something in the final third and three strikers that would be hard pushed to get in any other top side.

It's been there for all to see for the majority of the season. We have become too reliant on Hazard and when he's off form or even worse, not on the pitch, we struggle.

You keep saying that but repeatedly fail to acknowledge Dean's Liverpool connection, his past history in relation to the FA'sdecision to take the 2006 cup final off him because of Liverpool's involvement, and the two key decisions he gave against us to today.

Bluehatter we are a million miles apart in our opinions on Nando, and always will be I fear. But on this subject you are entirely correct IMO.

 
I think the ref was poor again today but i don't think it was his fault we lost. Yes the penalty given was a joke and any chance we had at winning the title is probably gone now but he should have sent off Ramires and he didn't. If there was any bias here he would have sent him off.

We were just poor again, as soon as we approach the oppositions area we stop or play 5 yard passes. If we would just try and thread a decent pass into the area our performances would be so much better. We are too predictable.

So ramires heading the ball then getting clattered in to isn't a penalty and a red card? Game changer

I agree, it should have been a pen. But it's not a conspiracy, just a sh*t ref performance again. Like i said he could have sent Ramires off too and he didn't.

With the amount of ball we have we should be doing a lot more ourselves, we created hardly anything and never put Mannone under anywhere near enough pressure. We ain't playing well enough and we haven't been since we beat Newcastle, it was only a matter of time before these performances caught up with us.

 
People can talk about not blaming the ref, should have played better blah blah, yet referees do influence games. Awarding (or not) a penalty, a red/yellow card, a free kick etc can change the course of a game and affect the result. How many Liverpool games have turned on a soft penalty this season?

I wonder, would Ramires have done what he did had Dean not spent the past 30 mins turning a blind eye to Sunderland kicking everything above grass? It's hardly a surprise that it came a minute after Dean ignored Ramires being bundled over just as he was about to head the ball into an empty net (which Martin Tyler laughably described as 'easing him out of the way'). Then there was the wrongly disallowed goal, the ridiculous penalty, etc.

Looking forward to a West London ref taking charge of Norwich v Liverpool tomorrow.

 
It was Dean who made Lamps take that pen three times at West Ham. Ever seen him - or any Prem ref - make a player do that before or since?

Careful what you ask for... knowing our luck, they'd bring Graham Poll out of retirement for the day!

 
What frustrates me as much is not necessarily the horrible ref job by Mike Dean and Chris Foy, but the super horrible job by the linemen that we have had during the year.  How many onside one-on-ones versus the goalkeeper have been flagged offsides by a stupid lineman?   Too many to count in my opinion. 

And what about the non-penalty call on the push on Ramires?    Did you see the linesman, the same one who was waving his flag like a crazy person when Dave supposedly fouled the Sunderland player in the box, wave his flag on the foul by Larsen on Ramires?  No, he did not.

But the point is this is happening far to often. If they go for us no one would be talking about the performances. We are doing fine not great but fine and doing enough to win these games but we are getting screwed over by awful decisions. I know it sounds like sour grapes but it's the truth.

Always wondered if he'd have ordered two retakes if Lamps had missed.

 
In the U.S., baseball was a sacred sport in which the umpire's decision was final, no questions asked.   But, even baseball capitulated to allow instant replay this season.  Too bad football will not find some way to allow the same thing.   The biggest problem with football, in my opinion, as compared to other sports, is the ability of a bad and/or crooked referee to totally change the match, which is much harder to do in other sports where scoring is much more prevalent (basketball, baseball, even hockey).  

 
No, I think Dean would not have allowed Lamps to retake the pen if he had missed at West Ham, since I believe if an infraction of moving into the penalty area too soon by one of your own players occurs, it is like a player in basketball moving into the key too soon on a free throw, whereby the shooter is not allowed a retake if he misses the shot, but must retake if he makes the shot.

The referee decided the game. It's boggling to me how anyone could think Larsson blasting into Ramires was anything but a stonewall penalty and a red card. He made no play on the ball and shouldered Rambo 5 yards into the goal. The commentators on NBC, Robbie Earle and Robbie Mustoe, we're congratulating Larsson for "pressuring Ramires". Am I crazy? How was that not a clear penalty?

I'm starting to believe there is an anti Chelsea bias. How else can you explain that we're considered "anti-football", while Liverpool, the biggest bunch of whiners, divers and cheats are being labelled as deserved title winners.

That's what upsets me the most about today; Sunderland pulled and kicked at us all day and not once did a Chelsea player dive or get in the refs face when we didn't get a call. Johnson could easily have been sent off for his high kick on Azpilicueta but didn't even get a yellow card. If it had been Liverpool playing they would have been diving and rolling around all over the pitch. They do it every game and the media don't say one word about it. Saurez and Sturridge walk on water. That's what I call anti-football. Diving cheats are rewarded at Liverpool. Chelsea are punished for playing fair and physical. Hell, you can just body check our players into the turf to stop a clear goal scoring chance and it isn't even a foul. Kick our left back in the ribs: play on.

The FA really are a bunch of twats.
