I would really like to know how that works. It's the same in wrestling I think.

Why not have the usual quarter/semi/final thing, where the winner advance and the loser goes out, so there's 8 people in the quarterfinals, then 4 in the semifinals and the last 2 fight in the final.

If someone lose the quarterfinals, but still get to have a go for the bronze, then what happened to the two people who lost the semifinals? Did only one get to fight for bronze?

 
Holy sh*t, just saw the 4x100 women's final. Take that Jamaica, USA women set a world record!

The 4x1 men's final will be crazy. Hope USA can push Jamaica to the end. Not sure why we're not using Bailey after he finished 5th in the 100 the other night.

 
Jamaica will walk it even without Powell, Bolt to start and Blake on the last 100m

Brazil was darn awful and Mexico played a perfect game.

Many thought that we might see a double gold for Brazil in football seeing as both the men and the women are really good, but instead they got a single silver with USA and Mexico taking home the gold.

 
Gutted for Oscar, that will sting for him...

But it would be unfair to hang the loss on him, Brazil were awful for most of the game.

 
It's completely unfair to hang it on him, Mexico should have been up 3 by that point, at least.

Rafael was utter rubbish and displayed a touch of rare class that I'd expect from one of Ferguson's players when he threw his hissy fit at Juan.

 
Juan started the spat by having a go at Rafael (but Rafael deserved it for playing like crap).

Anyway...I was just watching some modern pentathlon horse riding after the football (as you do), and a Ukrainian athlete was absolute trash. Incurred like 600 penalty points (and got a DNF). The horse tried to buck him, refused to jump about 10 times. Got whipped for the trouble too (don't like it)...personally I don't approve of horse events at all to be honest (mainly cut throat world of horse racing though...I mean we stick a person on their back, make them run fast while hitting them, and then when they get injured doing what we make them do, we put them down... unnecessary in my opinion).

Anyway...the Ukrainian guy couldn't ride.

Edit: It was not difficult...a few metres out unmarked, perfect height and speed of cross. That said, many more accomplished players have had much more embarrassing misses.

Thanks for explaining that Evissy! I have been racking my brains over what interpretation Moos' smutty little mind could have put on it. In fact, now you've said it that's exactly what it looks like so I owe Moos an apology for having mentally maligned him! Sorry Moosie! :blush2:
