Too little too late...he should be in the team now...he may be the biggest tool going, but he's still our most feared batsman..against Sri Lanka we went a long period going at 4 an over...criminal...mind you, not sure our bowlers can defend any total at the moment...about as threatening as a chicken korma

 
Well...c'mon you mighty Bangladeshians (or somefink); presently they're 4 for 117 however - looks like your lot will just scrape into the quarters.

 
It looks a lot less likely now Youlots. I am preparing myself for the bad news later...

At least Buttler is putting up a fight. At the moment it's about 20% on reaching 227.

 
Oh Well - That's That! We are f**king sh*te at cricket.

 
Root and Buttler are our only good players in ODIs. We're still a good test side judging by our win over India so I'm confident ish for the Ashes, but that was embarrassing. Same old story on ODIs, we do badly because we're out of touch with the modern ODI game, our fans don't care about ODIs as much because we do badly, causing us to stay out of touch.

Wow, it's official, England are a really poor side.

When did it start to go so wrong? I can't put my finger on it.

The only silver lining is that the result puts us england fans out of our misery. It has been a truly painful experience watching us and if we had scraped through into the quarter finals it would have disgraced cricket.

 
We are sh*te at ODI cricket, we are the most boring of al the teams who entered, we play ODI cricket as if it were a 5 day test match. The only positive for English cricket is that we entered a team in order to make it even numbers and inspite of knowing we are totally bo**ocks and that we were only going to humiliate ourselves, well done ECB your f*ckin clueless just like the shower of sh*te at the FA, give them c*nts a call and maybe they will lend you a shoulder to cry on!!

Feel really sorry for all those who spent good money to go to Aus and NZ to support the team, you should be given your money back. I was at the boxing day test at the MCG in 2014, world record crowd, so I know what this sh*te looks like.

Sh*te at Football (our game), terminally sh*te at Cricket (also our game) only the Rugby World cup to go and it could be a clean sweep of below average mediocrity from the founders of three of the worlds greatest sports - Is there any hope for the future.................?

 
England were very poor for the whole tournament.

They need to do some serious soul-searching when it comes to ODI cricket but take nothing away from Bangladesh they've surpassed the expectations of most people. 

 
Can't believe all the negativity in here. You guys realise that we still have a chance of finishing ahead of Afghanistan yeah?

Good point. Let's keep a sense of perspective!! A-stan are a major cricketing power. Almost certainly the best national team in A-stan.

 
In all seriousness, if you thought you were pissed off when England got knocked out, watching Paul Downton's explanation will take you to another level.



I'd love nothing more than to club him round the face with KP's bat.

 
Here is an extract from his interview in the Telegraph, and bare in mind, he is the guy that sacked KP:-

“I’m not saying everybody’s job is safe and I’m not saying that everybody is going to be sacked. It feels as though, from your perspective, there needs to be a scapegoat. There needs to be a target. All I’m saying is we’re in a position where we’re a transitioning side and that will take time. We have to take the right decisions to ensure we do that as quickly and smoothly as we can. But it’s too early to say yet in terms of any definitives: he’s going or he’s not going.”

 
I hadn't read that before (^); it's shockingly blatant. I'm not sure that even KP could have saved us but to know he's out of the team because he's a convenient victim is not good.

 
If he had the slightest bit of dignity or passion for English cricket, he'd sack Peter Moores and then resign the next day.

Yep. Passion and interest were missing from that interview. I might apply for his job:

'You batting chaps - score more runs; you bowlers - take wickets; both play a few more T20 matches and one day we might score over 300 which is clearly a world class total'.
