The return of the Super League...

The timing of this is also interesting, just on the back end of all the mess going on at City. If city end up getting relegated or a point deduction, I'd imagine they will sign onto this quickly.

I'm not against it if it's well thought out and it's not a closed league system.

UEFA are corrupt pricks and aren't the saviours of European football.

I imagine the teams that sign up for this will drop out of the Champions League
Yes but it's still 14 games, probably 17 or even 19 for the finalists.

Add 38 PL games, 3-6 FA Cup and 3-6 league cup and you suddenly end up with nearly 70 games being played.

Any of these proposals that have automatic inclusion for "historic clubs" should be binned immediately, its taking the piss and ring fencing to allow the "big clubs" to stay at the top table. Utter sh*te.

We don't need to replace it and I'm not an advocate for the Super League but the CL is going to be broken very soon with the extra fixtures.
The most hilarious thing is they slipped in the new announcement while the football world were too busy being outraged over the ESL. Partly because of PR spread by them and BT (therefore effectively Uefa) employees like Gary Lineker.

Both UEFA and FIFA are corruption incarnate.

That being said, the only reason I'm truly against the Super league these days is that some teams can't be relegated.

The whole thing is just a continuation of the FFP bo**ocks instigated at the request of the "historical big clubs" to stop upstarts taking their place a the top table. That goes back to the G14 cabal of clubs who`s sole purpose was to negotiate with UEFA and FIFA, pretending to be the voice of all clubs while insidiously walling out any other clubs. Unsurprisingly Man Utd, Liverpool and later Arsenal were all in this cabal, which is why their incessant whining about us, City, Newcastle etc is nauseating after they spent decades attempting to stop anyone usurping them....

Basically they can all go f**k themselves.

Ignore him, he’s just a fool.

And it's back with a vengance. Court ruled that UEFA, FIFA and others can't stop them.

Reckon we and the other top clubs in England will be part of this inside two years. Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus and several others are fully committed and while there may be domestic pressure to stay with UEFA for a while Champions League/EL will almost certainly die a slow death once the historic giants of the competition have gone elsewhere like Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juve among others have decided to do.

All the fan objections from before will still apply, albeit you can see they are trying to get supporters onside by offering "free" TV coverage for the games ...

Frankly I don't see why other European clubs should have to bale out Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for the millions they have squandered through being incredibly poorly run by their shyster owners. Let them all rot I say ...

CFC is far away from being a top 4 team so it doesn't really matter anymore.

So it'll be Barcelona, Real Madrid, a few Italian teams, some MLS and Saudi teams, probably.

Feels like this will happen eventually, one way or another. Will be the final nail in the coffin for many fans when it comes to professional football. UK government is likely to put up some roadblocks though:

Be interesting to see what the reaction is now from this lot here as their commitment to the existing PL and Uefa governance structure was a foundation of their tender for the club.

Man Utd have already spoken. All quiet from Boehly and the rest so far.
