The Rio 2016 Olympics

Well done Jason and Laura. Congratulations to them and every member of the GB Track Cycling Team. Each member of the team won at least one medal.

Chris Hoy, Steve Redgrave, Jason Kenny and Mo Farah all born on the same day. March 23...Spooky!

Men's keiran is nerve jangling
Bizarre event. They basically devised a sport to allow the former school nerd to get his overdue moment of fame. They even make him wear a backpack to give him the appropriate look.

Sorry, must remember to read all the posts and use multi-quote otherwise I'll be derided like that Arsenal fan (can't remember his name but he was banned for being irritating). - redandwhite3 was it?

Anyway, we decided that the rules for the cycling events were obviously dreamed up after a heavy night's drinking.  I mean you have the elimination which is basically musical chairs on bikes - in fact I think they ought to introduce music and make it whoever is at the back when the music stops is eliminated.

A guy on radio 2 yesterday said that they need to have an event which is down the park on Raleigh Choppers, all contestants wearing a school uniform with a bag slung over their shoulder and must carry an ice cream in one hand.  Sounds sensible to me.

It's one of those sports where you watch it and have an urge to play it.
I play on Thursdays after work for an hour or so, with people from work, but I'd like to play a bit more and find another group. Difficult though.

I've also been trying to find another 11 aside football team for about 3 years, but unless you know someone already playing in one, it's very hard to find one.

Can't you just look up the local leagues, rock up to one that look decent and ask to join a training session?

Pat Hickey, head Ireland's national Olympic committee, has been arrested for a ticket scandal. He is also a member of the International Olympic Committee Executive Board.

As someone with personal inside experience dealing with the IOC, this doesn't surprise me in the least. They're almost as bad as FIFA. They're just not as brazen about it.
