Welcome Emerson Palmieri!

I’ve only watched him when he played for us, not Italy or anywhere else. From what I’ve seen, he’s a terrible defender, always loses his man in set pieces, doesn’t really attack or defend well, a below par player really. Definitely not Chelsea level, not even as a back up. 

 
He's absolutely rubbish and I'd rather give Alonso a new contract than have this guy back in the squad. There's a reason Marcos quickly won his place back whenever Emerson was given chances.

Back ups to Reece and Chilwell were a big problem last year and somehow there's potential we're going to get even weaker on that score (Azpi and Alonso > Sterling and Emerson), you really can't make it up.

Besides experience he offers nothing that any other LB wouldn't. I've watched 15 minutes of this game against Argentina and got reminded of that.

He can't go past players as he's only slightly faster than Alonso, can't defend properly (I vaguely remember him costing us one or two goals for being awfully positioned withing our defensive line), and worst of all, seems to have little to zero desire every time he's playing.

Yes, he's a Mancini favourite, but that's pretty much it. Also "helped" Lyon to have the 9th worst defensive record this season and finish 8th in their league. Just get a small fee while we still can and move on, anyone can do his job as Ben's backup and hey, maybe we even get someone with ANY upside.

Even if we ignore the fact even keeping Alonso is preferable and that there's options on the market, I'd much rather give the place to Ian Maatsen.

I mean I'm nowhere near as sure about him as I am Colwill or was James and Mount (from their spells in the Champ) but if nothing else he has a potential upside and some hope of a solid contribution. We already know what we will get from Emerson and it just won't cut it.

There's zero excuse for this guy to be on the rooster once we get to August, absolutely zero.

You'd have to think Emerson would get the message if Cucurella gets signed ... at best he'd be 3rd option behind Chilwell and Cucurella at that juncture ... 

 
He needs to leave for us and himself. He's 28 years old and has fewer league games in his career than Reece James who is 22. If he doesn't leave, then he's in it for the money.

We need to find a buyer first. Lyon had the option to buy for just 15mill euros and turned him down after his year long loan.

That is similar to giving a new sofa but stealing his house and all other belongings as far as Just goes lmao.

 
We have agreed a deal with West Ham for him, however the deal is on the brink of collapse as there is a fair difference between what West Ham are willing to pay Emerson and what he wants to be paid.

Just goooooooooooooo! I absolutely hate fringe players with 0 ambition to be playing first team football. I mean, it's not their fault they got paid the absurd we like to pay those kind of players but... Haven't your earned enough already? Go play some football ffs!
