Who are you getting on the back of your shirt this year?

Yes having a Spanish bloke's full name and spending an extra what £15 and you call me a c**t!. I may well be mate but at least i'm not a gullible one. Do you have the Premier League badge as well because it's just not the real thing without it.
Not that its any of your business, but yes, I do have the sleeve patches too. Looks odd without them. Gullible.... You sound a right c**t mate, you clearly have a very warped view on what it means to show support for a club.

Taking the piss out of people for wearing a shirt supporting a club you allegedly support... Again, where does a large chunk of the clubs revenue come from? Shirt sales, match tickets and TV rights. Shirt sales alone generate millions, which goes toward getting us the players we need and paying their wages.

I'm curious why you seem hellbent on insulting people for putting too much money into the club you support? Seems strange to me!
Just another old timer with a chip on his shoulder and a hideously warped idea on what it means to support a team. The usual reaction I get from Chelsea fans when wearing a shirt is positive. This guy ain't normal. Either that or he's more plastic than Katie Prices chest.

And before he twists my words, no, I'm not insinuating that you need to be wearing the clubs latest kits to be a true fan. I'm saying that anyone who mocks a supporter for showing support in a positive way is a bit odd....

Plastic me when your the one who thinks loyalty to the club is buying a Premier League patch. Where do you think that money goes to mate cos it ain't Chelsea. It looks odd without them ha ha that's brilliant are you hoping to get a call up from Jose.

And now you're changing your argument, we're talking about patches? You were talking about shirts and lettering a minute ago. If you're gonna be a dick, at least be consistent.

Haha, so you now elect to attack my sexuality because you don't have a logical response to my post? Clear off pal. You're making a tit of yourself.

And FYI, not that it matters, I'm not into men. Its actually a virtual rendering of my face on a video game.

Err no i don't think i will as it goes unless this is your own personal site. As for making a tit of myself who has the virtual rendering of there face as an avatar. (whatever that is).

Oh dear, you really are a special kind of saddo. Knocking someone who supports the same club as you for wearing its colours, then having a pop at a persons sexuality based on their avatar, and then mocking said avatar because you can't understand it.

Again, my own personal choice what I do with my avatar. I happened to like the close resemblance, so wanted to use it instead of being the same as others. But there ya go, you strike me as a bitter old man who gets his rocks off mocking others on internet forums. You post about the 80s like you were a young man back then, which puts you in quite an advanced bracket agewise.

Sitting alone mocking others on the internet at your age.... That my friend is the pinnacle of pathetic. I'm not going to humour you anymore by responding to your remarks. So with that, I'm going to focus on the positive comments to get back on topic.

It's about whether it not you like wearing these things not that your mates will take the piss out of you. If that stops you then I think that's pretty sad and if you think it's tight they take the piss then

Eh?
Stupid ipad it was meant to say right not tight.

Don't buy shirts unless there's some kind of special meaning behind it. If I was to get one though it would be a toss up between Azpilicueta or Ake.

I'm nowhere near as old or grumpy as Whitewall but I do think that wearing kits is really for kids. What you're effectively doing is saying "Dave, when I grow up I want to be just like you..." Really by the time you're an adult a few things should have happened; you should have accepted that you're probably not going to make it as a top player. You should be comfortable with who you are and stopped trying to be someone else and you should (like me) be far too cool to wear football kits for anything other than playing football.

That's my take on thw whole thing anyway.

That said on my stag do to Barcelona (before I gre to hate them!) I was bought and told to wear the full kit for the stadium tour - socks as well. It was odd that the only person that seemed to find this amusing was Rivaldo.

Cheers Barn sorry about the grumpiness ha ha.

i've never bought a shirt with a name or number on the back, but was given one once as a present, I don't wear that one too often  but instead I keep it safe. I do wear football shirts though. So here goes.

Why I Wear Football Shirts by Tommy Doc aged fifty seven and eleven twelfths.

Firstly because I like the look and feel of them. They're cool (as in not sweaty not "hey man I'm so f**king cool") in the summer, and can be worn under a jacket in cooler weather.

Me being of a decidedly un-porky persuasion, they actually look good on me. So they're fine for wearing down the pub, going to town, anything non-formal.

Your average football shirt is also wonderfully low maintenance. Unless they're absolutely stinking, they're easy to wash, dry in no time and never need ironing.

When they start to get a little tatty, they're good for wearing to bed, or to work, depending on the kind of work you do. And so in many respects, football shirts are (for non-porkers such as myself) the perfect garment.

And then there's the windup factor, the "go f**k yourself you plastic Scouse/Manc bar steward". Wearing a Chelsea shirt I get dirty looks and called "plastic" by utter w**kers who've never been within 100 miles of Anfield or Old Trafford. Ah the joy of telling these f**king arseholes were to get off.

One time I was walking towards a gang of older schoolkids, every one of whom was wearing a Liverpool shirt. one of them looked at my Chelsea shirt, then turned to his mate and sniggered: "long sleeved". To these utter tossers, the shirts they wore were mere fashion accessories. They weren't put out at all be me wearing a Chelsea shirt, but found great hilarity in my unforgiveable fashion faux pas.

Incidents such as the above do wonders for your self esteem. How can you not regard these latter day dedicated followers of fashion with anything but utter contempt?

But what about the price? I have never in my life bought a full price football shirt. The only "this season's shirt" I've ever owned were the one my sister gave me for my fiftieth birtthday, and the one I got free with an MBNA Chelsea Credit Card. I buy them at the end of the season, or the season after, when prices are at rock bottom.

Signed

Tommy Doc
Please tell me the schoolkids incident was not recent. You must have low self esteem if getting into arguments with school kids is something to boast about on a public forum.

For me they are great talking points. If you are down the pub or on holiday if someone sees you are a Chelsea fan they usually want to talk to you even if they dont support Chelsea.

I have to say i'm beginning to enjoy the role of provocateur ha ha. Let's be honest if i hadn't put my beak in this would have been a pretty mundane topic basically who's your favourite player. This is The Shed End Forum not Mumsnet. What's next sowing tips, or how to have the perfect coffee morning. The best topic in this section is about the new stadium, proper debate considered and passionate views, something that all Chelsea fans should have a say on whether in favour or not. Not yes he's quite good but i prefer him bland nonsense like that.
Its only nonesense to some, and not to others.

I thought you'd prefer blokes with no tops like in your avatar
This whole comment is just sad.

Or it highlights your a Chelsea fan. You appreciate the efforts of a particular player. Everyones view is different.

This 1000 times over.

Firstly, there was  no argument. The kid looked at his mate and sniggered. I just carried on walking. Secondly whose boasting? My entire post was intended to be, shall we say, just a little on the humourous side.

But don't let that bother you. You carry on inventing arguments, having a go at things that haven't even been implied, acting the "provocateur" - and for "provocateur" read mickey mouse wind-up merchant,

Oh no, don't be giving them ideas...

We've had this discussion before on here and it surprises me how it continues to generate heated views from a lot of people. Personally I'm quite apathetic about other people wearing football shirts, with or without player names. I do own an away shirt from last season that I bought cheap and I wear mostly for working out, it's much better than a cotton shirt for that purpose because it doesn't absorb moisture and get all damp and clingy. No name on it and it prefer it that way, but if I had to get one I'd have Lampard's name as a tribute. I wouldn't wear it out in town or down the pub though.

Honestly, Id rather were a Chelsea shirt to the club, then to be seen anywere in a Lacoste Polo lol
