I would stay clear of him now, technically never top class yet had speed and strength.

These days looks a shadow of his former self.

I like watching him play and i wouldn't mind him joining us. Would be nice to see what he can do for us. he is a good dribbler and can take out defenders on his own + he has a bit of that aggressiveness that i personally like to see in our team. He wouldn't be our direct solution to our lack of goals but i don't think thats why he's targeted anyway. 

Progressive Carries top 2%, Progressive Passes top 4 %, Dribbles Completed top 2% and Pressures top 10% + Tackles top 1% 

this is what we need. Someone who can speed up our play and bring the forwards movement we are lacking in our play and who has the required defensive capabilities.

Am I missing something here, or not interpreting this FBREF chart correctly ?

I look at that data, and I see that he is very good at dribbles, passing, carries etc etc (all the nice green bars) but the bits that actually matter, assists, shots on target, goals, (all the old-fashioned stuff), he's all red bars and hence absolutely f**king hopeless ? Granted xA (expected assists?) is high, but it doesn't result in actual goals (Assists = 9, red bar), so given our current lots hapless performance in front of goal, the xA from Zaha is going to be as pointless as it appears to be at Palace ?

I think it’s because i left it on compared to forwards. Compared to wingers he will probably be in a higher percentile but also in a lower with the other stats

If by some miracle he does end up with us, it does at least appear that Loftus-Cheek, Gallagher and Batshuayi already have extensive experience of baling him out of trouble 🙂

Have you got the same chart comparing to Attacking Mids and Wingers then ?

 
This ship sailed long ago, the guy is 30 years old in a few months.

He’d be an improvement in the very short term, if Tuchel wants him that would raise a few red flags for me about how serious he is about our project, because we are not matching Man-City any time soon and need to ‘build’ something. 

 
Not good enough for Chelsea and a whinger too, constantly complaining about being fouled. Old and past his best when his best wasnt good enough.

There must be others out there,  no need to look at this calibre of player.  

 
I have never been the greatest fan of Zaha. I think he has wasted his career at Palace, but I don't think he could have ever become an elite player in the top 4 either. 

I also find it a funny coincidence that Zaha is being linked with a move away now after it was mentioned on Sky that transfer rumours have been quiet around Zaha this season. 

 
🤔 Hopefully just a random rumour. He has some quality, but it's exactly the type of player we don't want. He's not great enough to be a starting player, not a young player with potential to. How is he much or any improvement over Pullisic or Ziyech?
