JT, what he really said

Although, I think we are probably all used to the media contributing quotes to John Terry, when he hasn't in fact said them at all, I thought this was a great example of twisting what he actually did say, into the complete opposite of what appears to be meant.

The below quote come from an interview published on the official club website:

"'I just wanted to win at the World Cup; there was no disrespect to Steven Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand, or Lamps [Frank Lampard], who would have been the next captain, or the manager in fact.

'The respect for the players around me and the manager has always been the same and always will be the same.

'Maybe it just got mistranslated or people took it the wrong way, thinking I was trying to be captain when I wasn't. It's just that I am a very passionate guy and I want to win games and I didn't want to come home from the World Cup."

Although, the content of the link itself isn't overly damning, the headline reads:
