I've bought a Hp Pavillion DV6000 charger from Ebay.

It arrived and it didnt work so I emailed the seller and this is what he told me to do:

Dear Sir/Madam,

Sorry for any inconvenience that may have caused you.

Take it easy that we will settle it to your satisfaction.

We wonder that if the battery does not work or charge up.New batteries are hard for the device to charge; they have never been fully charged and are therefore "unformed". Sometimes the device's charger will stop charging a new battery before it is fully charged. If this happens, remove the battery from the device and then reinsert it. The charge cycle should begin again. This may happen several times during the first battery charge.

If it still cannot charge up,please try to charge it with laptop on for about two hours. The new battery will rectify itself in this way. There will some change if the battery is fine.If there is noting happening, please request an RMA for return and replacement.

And please tell us your laptop model and original battery model numbers then.

Thanks and regards!

Yours truly,

Singa

So, I did remove the battery and put the charger in and it charged for at most 20 minutes then went off again..

So I did what he also said is keep doing this and removed the battery and inserted it back in, only this time it's no re-started the charger. What else can I do ?

A few questions:

Does the laptop work powered from the charger but with the battery removed?

How old is the battery?

What was the reason you needed a new charger?

1) Na the red light on the adapter doesnt even light up when plugged in.

2) About 2 years now.

3) The old one broke at the end.

Doesnt matter now mate because the actual charger has just broke, cheap chinese goods me thinks.
