  1. The vocal fans have to accept some of the blame, yes. I'll say it again - I think he as done a good job given what happened. He was not my ideal manager - why he kept bring on Ben-i-bloody-useless and leaving some substitutions until the 80th minute when we needed to chase the game exasperrated me.
  2. That's a good question. I don't know the answer, but the abuse he was getting was always going to make him feel a disconnection wasn't it ? Also - I agree with him that calling him the 'Interim' manager was never a good idea. A manager of a football team needs to feel empowered from day one - giving him that title just smacked of "get us through to the end of the season then pack your bags and go". When you have people like Terry in the dressing room I think you need to be given some real support in the job your are being asked to do.
  3. Apologise ? Why ? Perhaps he didn't think we were so sensitive to a little bit of criticism . Besides, do you think it would have made any difference ? I don't I remember the 1-0 loss to QPR - the singing of RMs name, the abuse of Rafa.. not really condusive to the team performing was it ? Sunderland 0-3 2010. That was the worst defeat in our modern history.
  4. Read what I said again. I said "pouring scorn on opponents in order to get them het up". Do you still need me to post up quotes. Google is your friend. Who cares what he said about our fans ? I don't - I'm not that precious about stuff like that. He said what he said because he wanted a reaction which would benefit his team at that time. It's all part of the game,.
  5. 'All of the players' - you mean Terry, Lampard and Cole. Yesterdays players, We are a transition club - I doubt if the new players, the ones who were first picks, were quite so keen to see the back of RB. Terry probably thinks his name will be first on the teamsheet because JM will want the nucleus of a team he had 8 years ago. Me thinks Terry is in for a surprise. It's 2013 guys - wakey! wakey !
  6. It's hard to know where to start with that post. I trust you were being ironic when you complained that Rafa never called the Chelsea fans the 'great' ? Do you seriously think he would say, or even think, such a thing given the vitriolic abuse he was getting from the vocal minority on day one ? As far as aoplogising for what he said - why should he ? He was an opposition manager trying to wind the club up at that time.He was doing his job - the very same job Alex Ferguson and (remember this point) Mourinho are SO much better than him at . You might want to look at some of JMs press conferences to see how much worse he is at pouring scorn on opponents in order to get them het up ;) I, along with the silent majority of Chelsea fans, happen to believe he did a very good job bearing in mind the facts . We played more games than we have done before - you cannot play out and out attacking football when you are playing twice a week and have such poor attacking options as we did (which were nothing to do with him). We had a weak squad through the number of players we had out on loan. Also, the load mouths in the stand shouting abuse at him right from day one did the team absolutely no favours whatsoever. The more astute fan would get behind the team , no matter what, and let the results dictate whether the manager is the right man for the job. But that was too much to ask some fans, eh ? Instead the whole atmosphere was spolt and that had a very negative impact on the team - so perhaps you could look at yourself a little when you wonder why things weren't so great ? Anyway - I never wanted Rafa either, but I have to say he has been superb. I look forward to next season though I am in two minds whether JM is really the right man for the job. If he does come back he has some difficult decisions to make , one of which is going to be casting Terry away from the nucleus of the team and also making Frank play a role as sub like RM and RB were doing. In a period of transition , away fom the old guard, it is not always best to bring in an old manager.
