  1. Of course. Players like Falcao, Cavani and even Lewandowski would be better options than Rooney. My opinion. But it was impossible to buy one of these. Lewandowski only wants to go to Bayern. Cavani and Falcao, with ridiculous high prices. And now when they aren't available, we need to make the best of it. And, for me, Rooney is the best option right now. With Mourinho as I coach, I'm ready to take this risk, and even forget about his past and his high wage. Because in the end, all that matters is Chelsea FC. And if there's someone who can handle Rooney and make him one of the best again, it's José Mourinho. BUT ALSO; I think Mourinho is one of few coaches today who can "transform" Rooney to a good team player and to a true professional. Yes, I know that sound a little crazy, but it feels like it could be a crucial signing.
  2. Yeah you're right. He has very good stats in the league-games. My fault, the stats are good. You can't take that away from him. Even if he in very, very many of these games have been completely anonymous. But, he scores league-goals. And that's what matters Yes. But I think you have to consider that La Liga is very weak at this moment. The top 2, are really good, but the gap between these two and the rest have never been bigger than it's today. I must say thought , the last 2-3 years, in big and important games, Higuaín has been failing and wasting a lot of chances. Even in league-games, but yes, mostly in CL. As I said, I've followed Madrid very well the last years. Higuaín is a very complexed player. Every year the Madrid-fans say; "this year will be his big European breakthrough, he will become one of the best #9", but in the end he always disappoints. And that's why many Madrid-fans wants him gone, and that's why Santiago Bernabeu booed him in the last games this past season. I find him very weak mentally in the big games. I don't know why though, because he's a player with a big heart and good attitude. I think it's mainly because he's very one-dimensional as a player. A good centre back can stop him completely, quite easy. And with his back injury 1.5 years ago, he has never returned 100% physically. He runs a lot but the speed he had a couple of years ago isn't there today. I must say that I'm not a "true" Chelsea-fan. But Chelsea have always been my team in Premier League. I'm first and foremost A Mourinho-fan. Mourinho is like God to me. And I don't want to come here and pretend that I know this Chelsea, inside-out. But I think Chelsea needs a real quality striker. A player you know will be there, both in the "smaller" games but more importantly in the big games. Because if you have Torres, Ba, Lukaku (two of these), you will score goals vs the "less good teams". Especially with Hazard, Mata and Oscar behind. But when you have a CL-semifinal waiting for you and you have to choose between Higuain, Ba, Torres, Lukaku (for example). There's no "clear" star in attack. And I think Chelsea needs that scary #9, who is feared. I think if Mourinho signs a quality striker, Rooney maybe, and a good central midfielder (De Rossi or even Gustavo), then Chelsea will be top 2 favourites to win Champions League 2013/14. And maybe even win the treble. Why not... Sorry, long post.
  3. Sorry, I expressed myself bad. Higuaín won't ba a economical risk for €20-25M. Of course not. But I mean, Chelsea needs a striker who can deliver now. This coming season. Chelsea already have 2-3 striker who are somewhat "dubious" (IMO). Who aren't TOP, top-class (no disrespect). And I think it would be a risk to buy Higuaín and then have 3-4 strikers who are just "under the top". If you get Rooney, you get a quality-player up front. A real "star". And then you have Ba, Torres, Lukaku (two of these) who quality-wise are just under Rooney. Strikers who you can hope will develop a notch under Mourinho, and if they do, it will be a great bonus.
  4. You're right. He's a good "league-player". As you said, scoring against the "Sunderlands, Evertons", and so on, that could be decisive. BUT, I've seen him play since he signed for Real Madrid. Higuaín is a player who needs a lot of chances to score one goal. And if you consider how dominant Real Madrid and Barcelona are in La Liga, I would say Higuaíns goalscoring-record (in the league) is a bit overrated. I mean, I think he has scored 8 goals in approximately 50 apps, in Champions League, Two goals in the knock-out rounds. Two. That says a lot. He has some problems when facing defences who play hard and tough. He's really one-dimensional and he very often totally disappears from games. I don't think Chelsea needs that type of player. Nothing against Torres but I would say he and Higuaín are quite similar. Even if Torres has a way more impressing background/record. But I understand that Mourinho likes Higuaín (he really does) because he's a striker with a big heart and a striker who runs and works hard for the team. But I would take a player like Rooney, ten out of ten times ahead of Higuaín. If you only consider which football-player would be the best for Chelsea FC.
  5. I know the Spanish papers quite well. And the quote from "AS" is a typical "made up-quote". Because if these type of big news would to come out, several other Spanish papers would be reporting about this possible move. Papers like "Cadena Ser", "Marca" and "Cope", for example. All these different papers are under the same media conglomerate, called PRISA. And when a news bomb like this releases we see these papers reporting about it, at the same time. And that's not the case now. For example; Marca writes today that Higuaín still is determined to leave and that Napoli is the most probable destination. The Higuaín-situation is quite clear. He wants to leave, and has been determined to do that since last season ended. Real Madrid-board with President Florentino Perez wants him to stay. New coach Ancelotti is also trying to convince him to give it another shot. Real Madrid are in a very, very tough spot, regarding their striker line-up. Because if they sell Higuaín they only have Benzema and Morata left (and very few new signing-options). Morata who is very young and inexperienced. This will mean that if Real Madrid would let Higuaín go it would be for a very high price. Today's Marca writes that the board wants at least €40M for the Argentine. And that's ridiculous if you ask me. It would be a huge risk to get him for €20-25M IMO. Chelsea need a striker who they know can deliver in the big games, in Champions League. Higuaín isn't that player, he's the opposite. Small game man. He would fit perfectly in Arsenal though:). Btw, sorry for my English.
  6. It was German "Sport Bild" who first came out with the news that Gustavo, pretty much, is transferlisted. I'm not surprised, because he isn't the "Guardiola-type" of player.
  7. Higuaín? No, no and no. Trust me. I've followed him quite well in the last 4-5 years. Big-game choker, number one. I think he has scored TWO goals in Champions League knock-outs. Despite being in Real Madrid for 6 years. I think he has scored 8 goals in 50 CL-appearances. He disappears so easy from games, especially in games wit a lot physicality. And after his back injury, one year ago, he has never got back his true speed and movement on field.
  8. In my opinion, this could be Silly Season's best bargain. I can't understand why Bayern (Pep) has transfer-listed him. An excellent player, great physique but also an underestimated technique. If you believe the rumours, you should get him for a sum around €20M. And that's really, really cheap. I think we and many other big clubs will be stupid as hell if we/they don't try to sign him.
