No chance for Chelsea to win. Mourinho will undoubtedly receive a favourable refereeing decision but the better team will win. Just like what happened last year, Chelsea will attempt to play attractive football but get humiliated by the better team.

The golden ball and golden boot winners at every tournament are required to be in the longlist. There is precedent for it. I find it quite humorous that this list is now "stupid and unreliable" because there is one selection that you disagree with. Deal with it. The only player on Chelsea that would start for Bayern is Mata.

In 2012, Chelsea won the Champions League. Only 3 of their players made the 26-man longlist (Torres, Drogba, Cech), and only 2 of their players made the top 10 (Drogba #7, Cech #8). In 2013, Bayern won the Champions League. Only 9 of their players made the 26-man longlist (Dante, Javi Martinez, Lahm, Mandzukic, Müller, Neuer, Ribéry, Robben, Schweinsteiger), and only 4 of their players made the top 10 (Ribéry #1-3,Robben #4, Müller #6, Schweinsteiger #7). Nominations for unbiased awards are given due to high performances. David Luiz did not have high enough performances to merit a place on the longlist, whereas Dante did. The European Sports Media are also better judges of talent than you are. Boateng has the same offensive output as David Luiz, and he is a much better defender. Boateng was the best central defender of the Bundesliga last season. David Luiz was not even top three in his own league. Dante was one of the best central defenders in Europe throughout the season, exhibited by his nomination for the UEFA Best Player in Europe award nominated by the European Sports Media. You don't need an "x-factor" in a defender position. You need an "x-factor" in an offensive position. Both Dante and Boateng are better defenders than David Luiz. Alaba was a better left back than Cole was last season, and whereas Alaba keeps improving Cole is declining. There is a sizable difference between both Petr Cech and Manuel Neuer. Cech is not one of the 3 best goalkeepers in Europe, whereas Neuer is.

In the Bundesliga last season, Neuer averaged 4 saves per goal conceded. In the Premier League last season, Cech had a 76.9% save percentage. In the Bundesliga last season, Neuer had a 79.8% save percentage. Keep in mind that at EURO 2012, Cech was a flop for Czech Republic. Neuer was #19 in 2012 Ballon D'Or voting in 2012, whereas Cech was not a nominee. This season, Neuer was nominated for the UEFA Best Player in Europe award. Cech wasn't. How is he better? Alaba is a more efficient tackler, commits less fouls per successful tackle, and commits less defensive errors than Ivanovic. Ivanovic is a much better aerial threat, but Alaba is better going forward as a left back than Ivanovic is as a right back. Not to mention that Ivanovic does not play as a left back, and if you put Lahm as a left back you weaken both fullback positions. Javi Martinez is the best defensive midfielder in Europe over the last season. Ramires didn't make the Confederations Cup squad ahead of Javi Martinez's backup at Bayern. I don't think there is any other person that would rate Ramires over Javi Martinez. Yes, "lol" at the European Sports Media for voting Franck Ribéry as one of the three best footballers in Europe. Hazard wasn't in the top 10 in voting. He didn't even make the 26-footballer longlist, but he is better than some of the names in that list. Luis Suarez is definitely one of the top 15/20 footballers in Europe, but that is irrelevant. Eden Hazard wouldn't start at Bayern.

Help me out here: you think David Luiz is a better CB than Dante and Boateng, Cech is a better GK than Neuer, Ivanovic is a better LB than Alaba, and Ramires is a better MF than Martinez? And yes, I think they would lose quite a bit. Ribéry is a top 3 player in Europe whereas Hazard is top 15-20.

Who from Chelsea's squad would make it into Bayern's squad? I see only one: Mata.
