This. Its quite shocking that some people are trying to project it out as if Jose's exclusion of Mata isn't justified. Two points off the top in January for the first time in the last three years.The same years in which Mata was the best player in a slow passing,defensively weak side. As much as he is likable ,whatever fee we get for him is definitely better than benching him and ruining his world cup ambitions anyway.So,the way I see it is a win-win for all parties.Bring in a Jose type of forward in the summer and were set for the long haul ,I believe.

Everytime i watch Everton play,he's in the heat of things for awhile and then just goes missing or keeps trying too hard to get that incisive pass to one of the wingers.I get the feeling hes trying to be too many things now and as a result not being as effective as he was with WBA,where he basically played the big lad that held up play and pushed past a couple of players to get his shot away. This bit of indecisiveness is why i believe we were right to loan him out again this season.hopefully some Jose talk and he should be in ship shape for next season.If he still wants to stay that is.
