We have started the season really well until the blip against Wigan, if I may call this as such. Wigan played very well and I was impressed with their quality overall.
However, is this the beginning of our crunch time ? A time where the team needs to stick together? The next 2 Premiership games will expose our true ambition - Scousers and Villa - We have lost the initiatives while United have already beaten Man City, Spurs and Arsenal( not forgetting that United won 5-0 at Wigan !).
is this the beginning of another Scolari decline? Thus far, we have not met top opposition and when we did, we were lucky to win 1-0 against Porto or secure a draw in the Community Shield.
I do not think it is an issue with the gaffer even though we are playing a new diamond system. What Chelsea needs is an overhaul, with Ballack, Carvalho, Cech, Lampard, Anelka, Belletti and Lamps all on the wrong side of 30s. It is not an immediate renewal. I just hope they can be like Ryan Giggs who goes on playing like forever but we really need the likes of Borini & Sturridge to fill the gaps of the next generation.
In this respect, Arnesen has failed us miserably. While Wenger could boast about blooding new talent, we cannot claim the same light as we have not seen another JT stepping up, except maybe Mancienne. Players such as Ben Sahar failed to make the grade and were shipped out.
So let's stick together and support the team. We need a good reaction against Nicosia. The way Liverpool is playing at the moment scares me and I do want a win at Stamford Bridge to widen the gap. Let's bring the bridge down.
