evertonian here! in peace of course. I think a lot of you are judging feli on last years performances. he come into the side as a central midfield player and found it very difficult to adapt to the pace of the premier league. he was moved further forward when we lost our whole forward line alongside cahill with mixed results. this season, after a slow start due to a virus (he lost a shed of weight) and the whole teams drop in form he's been moved back to his preferred central midfield role and we havent looked back. he has been absolutely superb for a good 10 games now and is showing why moyes payed £15m for him. on current form he is one of the best in the country. he has everything a CM needs in his locker, apart from the obvious height, strength and agression he is also extremely tidy on the ball, breaks up play well and has a more than decent shot. he has also cut out the silly fouls and his tackling has improved ten fold.
I can actually see why chelsea would want him. young, powerful capable of dominating games against the best teams but most of all his ability in both boxes would be extremely beneficial to chelsea, especially with the problems you have had from set pieces.
would he get in your team?
possibly, he's certainly a more effective player than mikel IMO of course.
the problem would be that he is not a big enough name for chelsea and you already have a hell of a lot of central midfielders (essien is the best in the league for me)
plus...he would cost a lot more than the 15m we paid for him (24m for lescott says a lot)
oh and make sure you beat them manc b******s to the league this year!
